In accordance with the University's Charter, the Regulations on the SRIE&CM and the Regulations on the Training of Highly Qualified Scientific and Scientific Teaching Staff, the laboratory performs the tasks of scientific and methodological support for research and experimental work for the training of highly qualified personnel.
The provision of research and development includes the organization of a workplace, training in research methods, planning experimental work, providing advisory and technical assistance during research.
The Laboratory of Experimental Medicine, Pharmacology and Toxicology (LEMPH&T) performs research in the following areas:
1. Preclinical studies of pharmacological substances.
2. Development of experimental models of pathological processes.
3. Humanization of research on laboratory animals and the introduction of alternative (in vitro) toxicology methods.
Laboratory objectives:
1. Implementation of scientific research in the field of medical and biomedical sciences (pharmacology, toxicology, immunology);
2. Development and verification of experimental models of pathological processes for studying the mechanisms of etiopathogenesis, the creation of medicines and technologies of therapeutic effect;
3. Conducting preclinical studies and evaluating the safety of medicines, chemical and biological substances, products, materials and medical, industrial and household products
Laboratory tasks:
1. Conducting comprehensive scientific and methodological and experimental research on current medical and biological problems.
2. Development of new research methods and criteria.
3. Implementation of the results of scientific research into the practice of scientific research and practical healthcare.
4. Guiding and advising the research activities of undergraduates and postgraduates on the problems studied in the laboratory.
5. Training of highly qualified researchers (doctors and candidates of sciences) according to the training plan of the highest scientific qualification approved by the University Council.
6. The inclusion of elements of research activities in the educational process of BSMU.
The Laboratory of Experimental Medicine, Pharmacology and Toxicology of the scientific research unit of the educational institution "Belarusian State Medical University" performs preclinical research within the scope of accreditation (Certificate of accreditation No. BY/112 1.0427 dated April 12, 2004).
