Scientific Research Institute of Experimental and Clinical Medicine

Scientific Research Institute of Experimental and Clinical Medicine (hereinafter – The E&CM Research Institute was established as a single scientific base that ensures the coordinated development of science and education, the creation of an integrated system for training highly qualified scientific personnel at all levels and in all areas of scientific activity, conducting full-fledged fundamental and applied scientific research in accordance with the priorities of biomedical science and practical healthcare of the Republic of Belarus, preclinical studies of import-substituting medicines, biomedical cellular products, medical equipment and medical devices.

The Research Institute of Experimental and Clinical Medicine is accredited by the Republican Unitary Enterprise "Belarusian State Accreditation Center" for compliance with the requirements of GOST ISO/IEC 17025-2019 "General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories" (certificate of accreditation No. BY/112 1.0427 dated 04/12/2004), which indicates the technical competence of the laboratories of the Research Institute of Electronic Medicine and their competitiveness in the market of services in the field of conformity assessment.

The E&CM Research Institute was organized as a result of the reorganization of the state educational institution "Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education" on 09/29/2023 by joining the educational institution "Belarusian State Medical University" on the basis of a decision of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus (Order No. 634 dated 05.05.2023 "On the Reorganization of Institutions" as amended by Order No. 803 dated 05/31/2023).

The laboratories of the E&CM Research Institute have qualified personnel (including 13 doctors and candidates of medical, biological and chemical sciences) who have special professional training, knowledge and work experience necessary for conducting scientific biomedical research.

Experimental research, modeling of pathological conditions in laboratory animals of various origins, testing of new methods of drug and non-drug correction of pathology, monitoring of the general condition of animals, preclinical trials of medicines and medical devices are carried out on the basis of a vivarium, which simultaneously contains all the main types of small and large laboratory animals (up to 2500 individuals of rats and mice, 10 pigs, 25-30 rabbits, 20 guinea pigs).

Since 07/01/2025, as a result of the merger of the research unit and the research laboratory, the following laboratories have entered the E&CM Research Institute:

Training of highly qualified researchers

On the basis of an APPLICATION, highly qualified researchers are trained in the laboratories of the E&CM Research Institute, including scientific and methodological assistance to graduate students and doctoral students of the Academy's departments, workplace organization, training in methods, consultations, technical assistance, participation in planning experiments and monitoring their conduct.

Dear postgraduates, doctoral students and applicants for academic degrees! In order to optimize the work of the E&CM Research Institute, we strongly recommend that before filling out the application for scientific advisory assistance and the Protocol of experimental research, we coordinate all stages of laboratory research (types and methods of research, volumes of research, rules for biomaterial collection, methods of delivery, storage, etc.) with the heads of laboratories (see coordinates on the website) in which it is planned to perform laboratory tests.
