Medical work of Periodontology

The staff of the Department of Periodontology conducts advisory, therapeutic and preventive work at the main clinical bases: the State Institution “Republican Dental Outpatient Clinic” and the “Minsk City Outpatient Clinic #5”, “Minsk City Outpatient Clinic #20”, provide counseling in 6 city Outpatient Clinics on a functional basis.

The main direction of the therapeutic work of the Department is the treatment of patients with periodontal diseases. Under the guidance of the teachers of the Department the students receive practical skills in diagnosis, treatment and prevention of dental and periodontal diseases with the use of modern medical techniques.

The staff of the Department develop and implement new practical methods of examination and treatment of patients with periodontal diseases in practical public health and educational process.

Every year the Department trains the clinical residents from Belarus and international residents from Jordan, Iran, Lebanon, Great Britain and Syria.

The Department is the initiator of the organization of the Belarusian Republican Public Association of Dentistry Specialists, whose chairman is Professor L.N. Dedova.

Within the framework of the Belarusian Republican Public Association of Dentistry Specialists, dental professionals regularly (at least 5 times a year) attend educational sessions for practical doctors: scientific conferences and lecture cycles, in which the staff of the department takes an active part. The participants of these events receive information on innovative directions in dentistry and get credit hours to confirm the qualification category.
