Educational work is conducted in accordance with the workplan of the Department.
Every year about 230 fourth-year students, medical residents and interns of the Dental Faculty and the Medical Faculty for Foreign Students study the specialty of «Dentistry». The educational process is based on the discipline «Therapeutic Dentistry», with about 90% of the academic time being devoted to issues of Periodontology.
The Department takes part in the development of new educational standards and model curricula of higher medical education on the subject of Therapeutic Dentistry. During the academic year the teachers of the Department conduct methodical seminars on the improvement of the educational process, such as open classes, workshops, lectures for improving teaching skills.
The teachers of the Department regularly prepare instruction materials to optimize the educational process and control its results.
The teachers have developed manuals, test and situational tasks for the students of the 7th and the 8th semesters. The whole information can be found on the web-page of the Department.
In practical classes the students get and integrate knowledge about the basic principles of modern physical therapy, improve their skills to determine the indications and contraindications for physiotherapy, prepare individual plans of prevention and comprehensive treatment of dental diseases with the use of physical therapy.
