The Department runs a student research club for second - fifth-year students in the Faculty of Pharmacy. Students conduct research on topics of interest under the supervision of department faculty. Students' research focuses align with the department's core research areas.
Modern methods of drug analysis and standardization address current issues in pharmaceutical and toxicological analysis with the goal of deepening knowledge in the disciplines of "Analytical Chemistry," "Chromatographic Methods of Analysis," "Pharmaceutical Chemistry," "Toxicological Chemistry," «Modern Methods of Analysis and Standardization of Medicines»", and "Pharmaceutical Ecology."
The SSC usually consists of 20 students who actively work on experimental work. Based on the results of their work, students take part in the conferences “Topical Issues of Modern Medicine and Pharmacy”, “Young Pharmacy – Potential of the Future” (St. Petersburg), “Chemistry in Modern Pharmacy: From Molecule to Medicine” (Orenburg), “Modern Medicine and Pharmaceuticals: New Approaches and Current Research” (Samarkand), “Natural Compounds and Human Health” (Irkutsk), “Modern Achievements of Pharmaceutical Science in the Creation and Standardization of Medicines and Dietary Supplements Containing Components of Natural Origin” (Kharkiv), “Burdenko Scientific Conference” (Voronezh), “Innovative Technologies in Pharmacy” (Irkutsk), “Topical Issues of Pharmacology: from Drug Development to Their Rational Use” (Bukhara), “Science Week” (Stavropol), “Student Medical Science of the 21st Century. VI Forum of Youth Scientific Societies”, “Current Issues of Modern Medicine and Pharmacy” (Vitebsk), etc.
Following conferences and scientific forums student members of the club are awarded first-, second-, and third-degree diplomas.
Particular attention is paid to the development of chemical methods for the disposal of pharmaceutical waste. The Department oversees activities of the Ecopharm volunteer group. The group's volunteers sort and analyze pharmaceutical waste from collection points throughout Belarus. Since February 2021 the volunteer group has been a participant in the public campaign "Nature Without Pharmaceutical Waste."
Based on the results of 2021 the Department's Student Science Club took second place among theoretical departments in the competition for the best Scientific Research Council for organizing research work.
