Can also develop and validate quality control methods for medicinal products and medicinal plant materials, including herbal remedies, and determine the enzymatic activity of these materials. Can also obtain extraction dosage forms, develop methods for their qualitative and quantitative analysis, assess stability, and justify the composition through pharmacological and chemical studies. Can also conduct experiments to study penetrating ability of substances and assess their bioavailability; study the absorption capacity of substances and present sorption data; conduct chemical processes to destroy active molecules, conduct animal experiments (assess toxic properties and pharmacological activity), and in vitro activity and toxicity studies. Can also model ligand-target interactions using in silico methods; prepare analytical reviews of the literature.
The Department has a liquid chromatograph, which is used to perform the following types of work: studying the qualitative and quantitative composition of medicinal plants and plant materials; determining impurities in pharmaceutical substances and drugs; quantitative determination of medicinal substances; studying substances in biological samples (e.g., blood plasma) and culture media.
