The main directions of research work of students of the study:
- clinical and pharmacological characteristics and the application of new domestic and foreign drugs;
- modern principles of rational pharmacotherapy of socially significant diseases;
- aspects affecting patient adherence (compliance) to pharmacotherapy;
- side effects of drugs (epidemiology, manifestations of adverse reactions, methods for their prevention and early detection, correction and registration);
- clinically relevant aspects of drug interactions.
Since 2000, there are new direction in the activities of the circle - Pharmacoepidemiological and pharmacoeconomic studies, pharmacoeconomic analysis in drug therapy and evaluation of the quality of life of patients, analysis of changes in the structure of the most consumed drugs in health institutions, the problem of access to medicines for patients.
Department of Clinical Pharmacology for several years, organizes and conducts tours in the pharmaceutical enterprises of the Republic of Belarus. Teachers and students visited the «Belmedpreparaty». «Grodno Medical Preparations Plant», «Borisov Medical Preparations Plant», «Farmland» «Nesvizh Plant of Medical Preparations», «Minskinterkaps» and others.
As part of the scientific research the students have thematic dialogue and debates on topical issues of clinical pharmacology, pharmacogenetics, the organization providing pre-hospital care for patients - the work of emergency medical care, pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacoeconomics, drug therapy safety, clinical trials of drugs. Students of the department members of the circle every year are preparing abstracts and articles to the publication of materials on these issues.
