The Department of Clinical Pharmacology provides treatment and consultative services at five clinical sites:
- The main site is the Healthcare Institution "4th City Clinical Hospital named after N.E. Savchenko";
Additional clinical sites:
- Healthcare institution "3rd City Children's Clinical Polyclinic";
- Healthcare institution "15th City Polyclinic";
- State Institution "Republican Hospital of the Department of Finance and Logistics of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus";
- Minsk Regional Clinical Hospital for Veterans of the Great Patriotic War named after P.M. Masherov;
- Healthcare institution City Children's Infectious Diseases Hospital.
There is close cooperation between the staff of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology of the Belarusian State Medical University and clinical sites.
The staff of the department's faculty provide patient consultations, conduct clinical rounds, medical councils, pathology conferences. Treatment and consulting activities are regulated by the relevant documents of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus. The department also provides outpatient consultations.
The department's staff provides consultations at the Professor Center of the Belarusian State Medical University.
The City Center for Drug Pathology, established at the 4th City Hospital in the department, has been successfully operating since 2009.
At the department's clinical sites, faculty members conduct consultations, board meetings, including Republican Board Meetings, and clinical rounds. Department staff actively collaborate with healthcare institutions in various regions of the Republic of Belarus, traveling directly to these regions and providing patient consultations via telemedicine. Department staff review inpatient and outpatient medical records and participate in forensic examinations.
The department's staff members are actively involved in revising clinical protocols for the diagnosis and treatment of specific disease entities. The department's faculty devotes considerable time to promoting medical knowledge, actively participating in organizing and conducting seminars, conferences, and congresses year after year. They also prepare and deliver lectures for physicians, and serve on commissions established by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, the Healthcare Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee, and on certification committees for physicians and clinical residents.
Irina Sergeevna Romanova, Head of Department, MD, PhD, Associate Professor, and physician of the highest qualification category,
- provides scheduled consultations to the most complex patients of various specialties in the departments of the 4th City Clinical Hospital and the Ministry of Internal Affairs Hospital, including the intensive care unit. She also provides emergency consultations, councils to patients in other medical facilities and regions of the country, if necessary.
Mikhail Konstantinovich Kevra – professor of the department, doctor of medical sciences, professor, physician of the highest qualification category:
- conducts scheduled consultations for patients of various profiles located in the departments of the Healthcare Institution “4th City Clinical Hospital”.
- Provides daily consultations to patients of the 4th City Clinical Hospital on emergency indications as needed;
- heads the City Center for Drug-Based Pathology on a functional basis at the hospital, where he conducts councils for patients referred by Minsk healthcare organizations.
Larisa Nikolaevna Gavrilenko – professor of the department, candidate of medical sciences, associate professor, physician of the highest qualification category:
- conducts consultations for patients of the Cardiology Department No. 2, as well as patients of the "City Center for Drug Pathology" upon referral from healthcare organizations of the city of Minsk at the "4th City Clinical Hospital" and participates in national councils.
Irina Nikolaevna Kozhanova – Professor of the Department, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, and physician of the highest qualification category:
- provides consultations to patients in the pulmonology department, intensive care unit, and resuscitation department; patients of various profiles located in the departments of the 4th City Clinical Hospital and the Ministry of Internal Affairs Hospital; and participates in republican councils.
Olga Fedorovna Kardash, Associate Professor, MD, PhD, and Category 1 physician,
- provides consultations to patients in the vascular surgery department, as well as to patients with various specialties in the departments of the 4th City Clinical Hospital and the Ministry of Internal Affairs Hospital. She also provides consultations to patients at the Professor Consulting Center of the Belarusian State Medical University.
Svetlana Aleksandrovna Matskevich – Associate Professor of the Department, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, Physician of the First Qualification Category: provides consultations to patients of the Urology Department No. 3; upon recommendation of the Head of the Department, consults patients of the Cardiology Department No. 2 of the Healthcare Institution "4th City Clinical Hospital".
Chak Tatyana Anatolyevna – associate professor of the department, candidate of medical sciences, physician of the first qualification category: consults patients in various departments of the Healthcare Institution “4th City Clinical Hospital”.
Alina Anatolyevna Koroleva – Associate Professor of the Department, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, Physician of the First Qualification Category: conducts consultations for patients at the Minsk Regional Clinical Hospital for Disabled Veterans of the Great Patriotic War named after P.M. Mashero.
The department's pediatric base is the City Children's Infectious Diseases Hospital, the 3rd Children's City Clinical Outpatient Clinic, and the City Children's Infectious Diseases Hospital. Pediatric consultations are provided by the department's pediatric specialists:
Igor Veniaminovich Vasilevsky – professor of the department, doctor of medical sciences, professor, physician of the highest qualification category: provides consultations to the most complex patients, first and second pediatric departments at the 3rd Children's City Clinical Polyclini.
Maksimenya Galina Grigoryevna – associate professor of the department, candidate of medical sciences, associate professor, physician of the highest qualification category: conducts consultations for patients of the first and second pediatric departments at the 3rd Children's City Clinical Polyclini.
Elena Nikolaevna Skepyan, Associate Professor of the Department, PhD, Associate Professor, and physician of the highest qualification category, participates in consultations and provides consultations to patients in various departments at the Children's Infectious Diseases Hospital, including the intensive care and resuscitation departments. She also provides consultations to patients at the Professor Consultation Center of the Belarusian State Medical Universit.
The department's faculty conduct expert evaluations of pharmacotherapy, paying particular attention to the safety, efficacy, cost, and interactions of prescribed medications.
Department's staff participate in:
- weekly patient rounds, consultations with complex patients,
- conflict resolution cases involving parents or other relatives of patients with complaints about the lack of treatment improvement, the occurrence of medication side effects, poor compliance with doctor's orders by nursing staff, etc.,
- the hospital's pathological conferences,
- advanced training for hospital physicians by delivering lectures on topics proposed by the administration and sharing the results of their participation in international forums and conferences.
- Participate in commissions on orders and directives of the Ministry of Health: The Republican Formulary Commission of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, the Commission on Medicines of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, the Expert Commission on Immunization of the Ministry of Health, the Commission on the Registration and Sale of Dietary Supplements, etc.
Quarterly, according to the work plan, each department staff member discusses their completed clinical and consultative work at department meetings.

Kozhanova is the Chief Clinical Pharmacology Specialist of the Main Healthcare Department of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, an expert of the Republican Formulary Commission of the Ministry of Health, and a member of the editorial board of the international scientific and practical journal for family physicians and general practitioners, "RECIPE."
Professor L.N. Gavrilenko is a member of the Treatment Control Council of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, a member of the Scientific and Methodological Council of the UO BSMU, deputy chairman of the Methodological Commission for Therapeutic Disciplines of the UO BSMU, a member of the Expert Council on Immunization of the Ministry of Health, a member of the Expert Commission on Therapy of the Scientific Medical Council of the Ministry of Health, head of the secretariat and a member of the Republican Formulary Commission of the Ministry of Health, a member and expert of the Commission on Medicines; Chairman of the Board of the Public Medical Association "Clinical Pharmacology and Therapy", editor-in-chief of the international scientific and practical journal for family doctors and general practitioners "RECIPE", a member of the editorial board of the journal "Safety and Risk of Pharmacotherapy", a member of the expert council of the Belarusian Society of Rheumatologists, and a member of the expert council of the BOMO "Endocrinology and Metabolism".
