History of Clinical Pharmacology

The teaching of clinical pharmacology (cycle of selected lectures) at the Minsk State Medical Institute in the Republic of Belarus was started in 1973.

Kevra MK was the first lecturer of clinical pharmacology at the Minsk State Medical Institute.

In 1984 the institute was created a separate course of Clinical Pharmacology, which was located at the base of the 4th city clinical hospital of Minsk.

In 1993, a separate course of clinical pharmacology at the Minsk State Medical Institute was transformed into the Department of Clinical Pharmacology, which was headed by Associate Professor MK Kevra.

Since 1989, the Minsk City Centre of drug pathology was opened (on a functional basis) at the Department of Clinical Pharmacology. Daily teachers of the department advise patients with complex drug pathology.

Employees of the department are involved in the medical consultation, clinical, and clinical-anatomical conferences both in their clinical sites and other health care institutions in Minsk.

At present the Department of Clinical Pharmacology is located at three clinical sites: 4th city clinical hospital. N.E.Savchenko, the hospital and the Ministry of Interior of the Minsk city children's polyclinic №3.

Since 2009, A.V. Khapalyuk head of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology of Belarusian State Medical University, MD, Professor.

At the department of clinical pharmacology student training is carried out on specialties: «General Medicine», «Pediatrics», «Stomatology» and «Pharmacy».

In addition, clinical ordinators of all disciplines are trained on a cycle «Clinical Pharmacology».

Since 2009, the magistracy opened at the department.

Elective courses for students of the medical faculty of the department held on two bases.

MK Kevra (PhD, MD, Professor ) holds elective course «Rules for the conduct of clinical trials of drugs developed by domestic producers».

AVKhapalyuk (PhD, MD, Professor) teaches an elective course «Clinical pharmacology of drugs used in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.»
