Strengthening the status of the family and traditional values, support for motherhood, fatherhood and childhood is a national priority of Belarus. Popularization of family values requires a systematic approach and the participation of each of us. The more positive examples, support and attention are given to the family, the stronger the society becomes and the more stable the country develops. The classical model of a family with children should remain unchanged in the lifestyle of Belarusians.
Throughout the academic year, in the course of daily work, the entire teaching staff of the department actively participates in the formation of students' experience and skills of civic behavior in society, teachers conduct conversations in an accessible form for the student on legal education in the field of the rational use of medicines (especially psychotropic drugs, narcotic analgesics), the prevention of illegal behavior of a doctor in in relation to the patient, including when prescribing and conducting drug therapy, on issues of ensuring maximum safety of treatment.
An integral part of the educational process at the Department of Clinical Pharmacology are issues related to medical ethics and deontology when conducting pharmacotherapy to patients in the clinical departments of supervised healthcare institutions – UZ "4th GKB", UZ "City Children's Infectious Diseases Clinical Hospital", UZ "3rd Children's Polyclinic", UZ "15th City Polyclinic".
Issues that are traditionally discussed during practical classes and lectures at the Department of Clinical Pharmacology, as well as outside the scope of the department's academic work: Professional ethics as a way to regulate the behavior of a doctor during rational pharmacotherapy. Ethics and culture of communication between a medical professional (doctor or pharmacist) and a patient when prescribing, using, and disposing of medicines from pharmacies. Ethical problems of pharmacogenetics. The patient's right to a personalized approach to the choice of medical treatment. Doctor and patient: the ethical and legal aspect.
In accordance with the orders of the Ministry of Health concerning the regulation of the release of prescription medicines from pharmacies, the teachers of the department hold discussions and debates with the participation of students in practical classes on the topics "Criteria for classifying medicines as prescription and over-the-counter", "Legal issues and requirements of legislation regulating the prescribing of doctors and the procedure for the release and sale of medicines from pharmacies".
In order to develop ethical standards of behavior of a future doctor in daily medical practice, teachers of the department form students' skills in informing and instructing patients about the effects of medicines, as well as precautions when taking medications for patients, ways to monitor the course of treatment and ways to effectively interact with patients during pharmacotherapy. Teachers of the department actively discuss with students the legal aspects of modern pharmacotherapy.
