The clinical base of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology comprises 977 regular beds in obstetric and gynecological inpatient facilities.
Medical and consulting work is carried out in the obstetric and gynecological departments of the following medical and preventive institutions: 1st City Clinical Hospital, 5th City Clinical Hospital, 6th City Clinical Hospital and 2nd City Maternity Hospital.
Professors and associate professors of the Department also consult patients in the Republican Clinical Medical Center of the Office of the President of the Republic of Belarus, coordinate high risk obstetric and gynecological care in outpatient facilities and provide medical care in the regions of the Republic in the line of emergency medical care.
Our expert faculty and staff provide a full spectrum of general and specialized obstetric and gynecologic care from preventive well woman exams and prenatal care to minimally invasive surgery and high-risk pregnancy care, offers the latest advancements in reproductive health for women and girls.
Clinical work on the basis of the 1st clinical hospital is headed by the head of the department, Dr. med. Sciences, Professor Lyudmila Mozheiko. In the 5th clinical hospital, for many years, the work of the department was led by Professor V.T. Kaminskaya, Associate Professor T.N. Kolgushkina, Associate Professor V.S.Verbitsky, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Valentina Sidorenko, and currently MD, associate professor Kirillova Elena; in the 6th clinical hospital - MD, associate professor Lukashevich G.A., associate professor Verbitsky V.S., currently - associate professor Gulyaeva Lyudmila; at the '2nd Clinical City Maternity Hospital' - Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor O.K. Kulaga, currently - Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Elena Baranovskaya.
Throughout the entire historical period, the staff of the department provided advice to the female population in outpatient clinics in Minsk. Currently, all faculty stuff is assigned to outpatient departments, where monthly consultations are conducted for the most difficult patients.
At the same time, emergency assistance is provided to pregnant women, women in labor, parturient women, gynecological patients in all medical institutions in Minsk on weekends, holidays, at night, and duty is provided by the Republican Center for Emergency Medical Aid.
Almost all teachers conduct consultations at the Professorial advisory center of the Belarusian State Medical University. At the same time, employees are involved in the analysis of complaints from the population and control over the quality of medical care in health care institutions, in accordance with the orders of the Ministry of Health and the Health Committee under the Minsk City Executive Committee, as well as participation in the work of certification commissions of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus and the Health Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee. The head of the commission for certification of medical personnel is the head of the department L.F. Mozheiko, who is a consultant in the Military Medical Directorate of the State Security Committee and the State Institution 'Republican Clinical Medical Center' of the Administrative Department of the President of the Republic of Belarus, where routine rounds are carried out, medical diagnostic and high-tech surgical interventions are performed, consultations are conducted in the antenatal clinic, as well as modern methods of diagnostics and treatment are being developed and implemented, aimed at improving the provision of planned and emergency care to obstetric and gynecological patients.

- a concept for the formation of a healthy lifestyle, strengthening and preserving reproductive health (professor Gerasimovich G.I.);
- modernization of the surgical interventions in obstetrics and gynecology (professor Malevich Yu.K.);
- etiopathogenesis of preeclampsia, methods of early diagnosis, prevention and treatment, improved care for women in childbirth who have undergone preeclampsia (professor Sidorenko V.N.);
- management of obstetric and gynecological care for HIV patients (professor E.I. Baranovskaya);
- diagnostic criteria for endometrial and myometrial pathology, developed and implemented modern approaches in the treatment of women with hyperplastic endometrial processes (associate professor Kirillova E.N.);
- the basics of prevention of complications of the postpartum period in puerperas with diabetes mellitus (assistant professor Pavlyukova S.A.);
- management of pregnancy in case of anemia, improved methods of diagnostics and prevention of anemia (Lakotko N.N.);
- therapeutic and prophylactic measures in puerperas who have undergone preeclampsia (associate professor Rubakhova N.N.);
- sonographic criteria for different types and locations of benign uterine tumors, indications and techniques of organ-preserving surgeries for uterine fibroids using various surgical approaches, including uterine artery embolization (assistant professor M.L. Lapotko);
- late pregnancy termination in adolescent girls, a comprehensive scheme of social and treatment-and-prophylactic measures for the prevention of post-abortion complications was proposed (assistant professor E.V. Novikova);
- developed and implemented a comprehensive differentiated program for the correction of reproductive disorders in girls and young women with thyroid pathology (Alferovich E.N.);
