An important section of the department's work is educational and methodological work. The staff of the department has developed and approved standard and training programs for maxillofacial surgery and surgical dentistry for students of the dental and medical faculties.
Within the framework of the innovative project 'Computer Testing at BSMU', educational and control tests of various levels of complexity have been developed for 4th and 5th year students of the Faculty of Dentistry.
An electronic educational and methodological complex for the discipline has been developed, within which there are presentations of lectures, methodological developments for students and teachers, tests, situational tasks, as well as an electronic version of the published textbooks over the past 10 years.
Modern teaching technologies are represented by a selection of multimedia presentations on each teaching topic. Video films of surgical interventions with dubbing have been created.
The lecture material is presented by presentations with an annual update. For students of the medical faculty, presentations are developed for each lesson.
The department annually holds a competition of professional skills (Olympiad in maxillofacial surgery), in which 5th year students of the Faculty of Dentistry take part.
During the academic year, methodological meetings are held to improve the educational process, open classes and lectures.
An educational and methodological base for interns and clinical residents has been developed, including a program, educational literature, exam questions.
The training of students is carried out at 2 clinical and 13 polyclinic bases.
