Main disciplines:
- Russian as a Foreign Language is taught to foreign citizens at the pre-university training stage (preparatory department) and at the advanced stage (years 1–3 of the Medical Faculty for International Students).
- Беларуская мова: прафесійная лексіка (Belarusian Language: Professional Lexis) is taught to 1st-year Belarusian students of the Pharmaceutical, General Medicine, Paediatric, and Dental Faculties, and to 2nd-year students of the Faculty of Preventive Medicine.
- Belarusian and Russian Languages at the Preparatory (pre-university) Department for Citizens of the Republic of Belarus (preparation for centralized testing).
Main research and teaching areas of the department
At the Department of Russian and Belarusian Languages, instruction is provided to Belarusian students and to foreign students. The activities of the teaching staff of the department are conducted in the following directions:

Instruction of foreign citizens in the Russian language at the pre-university training stage (initial stage of instruction). Over the course of one year, foreign learners of the preparatory department master the Russian language and continue their education together with Belarusian students.

The teaching of foreign citizens during years 1–3 (advanced stage of instruction). Russian language sessions accompany the sessions of foreign students in theoretical and clinical departments and are constructed upon the basis of textual materials of medical-biological, medical, and pharmaceutical specialization.

Teaching of the discipline "Belarusian Language (Professional Vocabulary)" in the Belarusian language to first-year students of the Pharmaceutical, General Medicine, Paediatric, Military Medical, and Dental Faculties, and to second-year students of the Faculty of Preventive Medicine.
