The Department of Belarusian and Russian Languages provides instruction to both Belarusian and international students.

  • Russian as a Foreign Language (General Russian) is taught to international students at the pre-university stage (preparatory department) and at the advanced stage (1st–3rd years of the Medical Faculty for International Students).
  • Belarusian Language: Professional Lexis is taught to Belarusian 1st-year students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, 2nd-year students of the Faculties of General Medicine, Preventive Medicine, Pediatrics, and Military Medicine, and 3rd-year students of the Faculty of Dentistry.
  • Russian Language at the pre-university department for citizens of the Republic of Belarus (preparation for centralized testing).
  • Belarusian Language at the pre-university department for citizens of the Republic of Belarus (preparation for centralized testing).

Russian Language for Master's students (preparation for the candidate's (PhD. entrance) examination in Russian as a foreign language).

The aim of Russian as a Foreign Language is comprehensive and integrates practical (communicative), educational, and cultural objectives, all closely tied to the mission of training doctors for other countries. The communicative objective is primary. It is achieved by developing the language and speech skills students need in reading, listening, speaking, and writing — skills that ultimately enable them to master their profession, navigate a Russian-language environment (academic, professional, everyday, and cultural), and continue using Russian upon returning to their home countries.

Belarusian Language: Professional Lexis is designed to introduce students to the richness of the national culture and to shape communicatively competent individuals who can use their native language in professional contexts — translating and summarizing professionally oriented and scientific texts, managing business documentation, and delivering scientific presentations and public talks.
