The 30th Anniversary International Medical Forum "Healthcare of Belarus"

From the 15th to the 18th of April, 2025, there was held the 30th Anniversary International Medical Forum "Healthcare of Belarus" in Minsk. This event, organized with the support of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, attracted participants from eight countries: Belarus, Russia, Hungary, Egypt, Iran, China, Turkey and Switzerland. More than 190 exhibitors, master classes and conferences made the forum an important communication platform for demonstration of the latest developments and experience exchange. The business program included 37 scientific events that covered all key areas of modern medicine – from highly specialized issues to strategic tasks of healthcare digitalization.

The forum was opened with the participation of important guests, including the Minister of Health of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Khodjaev, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Health, Physical Culture, Family and Youth Policy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Valery Malashko, Deputy Secretary General of the China Medical Equipment Association Ren Fang, Head of the delegation of the Sichuan Medical Association Zhang Huiwu, Director of the exhibition company "Technology and Communications" Grigory Bondarev and other officials.

The delegation of distinguished guests got acquainted with the main achievements of Belarusian medicine. The delegation got acquainted with the achievements of Belarusian medicine, among which the expositions of Belarusian State Medical University stood out, which proudly presented the best examples of medical, scientific and educational activities.

The visitors were able to see the exhibition displays of the Republican Center for Professional Certification and Simulation Training of Medical and Pharmaceutical Workers of Belarusian State Medical University and the exhibition of the educational institution "Belarusian State Medical University".

The Belarusian State Medical University, as the leading medical university in the country, annually takes part in the forum “Healthcare of Belarus – 2025” and this year, it presents a large platform which represent the capabilities of the Republican Center for Professional Certification and Simulation Training of Medical and Pharmaceutical Workers, as well as the scientific and practical developments of the university.

– The platform of our forum is quite large, and both our lecturers and students participate here. We are interested in new information, new methods, new diagnostics, new equipment, technical innovations that are presented here and which we can use in the medical education of our students at the stages of higher and additional education, – emphasized the Rector of Belarusian State Medical University Sergei Rubnikovich in an interview with the Belarusmedica channel. – And of course, we are ready to show our developments, which involve elements of artificial intelligence and digital technologies.

An agreement was concluded between Belarusian State Medical University and the United Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus to train personnel and develop digital medicine and introduce artificial intelligence technologies into healthcare. The documents were signed by Sergey Kruglikov, Director General of the United Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and Sergey Rubnikovich, Rector of BSMU. The Rector of the country's leading medical university also got acquainted with the achievements of other companies representing innovations in the field of medicine and talked with their representatives.

As part of this significant event, Belarusian State Medical University presented two exhibition displays: "The Republican Center for Professional Certification and Simulation Training of Medical and Pharmaceutical Workers" and "Educational Institution "Belarusian State Medical University". Four events were also held.

On the 15th of April, there was held the Republican scientific and practical conference “Current problems of modern medicine and pharmacy”, organized by the Department of Clinical Pharmacology of Belarusian State Medical University. The conference was opened with a welcoming speech by the Vice-Rector for Research at BSMU, Mikhail Revtovich. On the opening day of the forum, there was also held the republican seminar “Modern approaches to creating a health-preserving environment for maintaining and strengthening health”, where the report “Thyroid diseases in children: early diagnostics and prevention" was held by head of the Department of Pediatric Endocrinology, Clinical Genetics and Immunology with a course of advanced training and retraining of Belarusian State Medical University, Chief Pediatric Endocrinologist of the Ministry of Health, Director of the State Institution “Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Immunology”, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Anzhelika Solntseva.

On the 16th pf April, there was held the Republican scientific and practical conference with international participation “Modern technologies in ensuring effective and safe pharmacotherapy in the Republic of Belarus”. The conference was organized by the Department of Clinical Pharmacology of Belarusian State Medical University.

The event was opened by head of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology Irina Romanova with a welcoming speech.

Dmitry Sychev – Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation.

Vitaly Omelyanovsky – General Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Center for Expertise and Quality Control of Medical Care”, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor. Svetlana Setkina - an authorized person for pharmacovigilance, head of the drug safety department of JSC BIOCAD. The main attention was paid to issues of healthcare organization and safe use of medicines in clinical practice.

On the 17th of April, the VII Republican scientific and practical conference “Modern technologies of physiotherapy and their hardware” was held, where reports were presented on scientific, practical and organizational aspects of the development of clinical guidelines in the Russian Federation, clinical protocols and methods of providing medical care in the Republic of Belarus. The discussion focused on problematic issues and complexities in the creation of regulatory documents, including issues of drug use, the importance of a multidisciplinary approach and the role of clinical pharmacology as a fundamental discipline that ensures the integration of decisions in the field of pharmacotherapy for various nosologies. Considerable attention was paid to the issues of safe use of medicines and the peculiarities of functioning and interaction of pharmacovigilance services at the national and supranational levels.

On the 18th of April, there was held a scientific and practical seminar “Therapeutic patient: from diagnostics to personalized treatment". The seminar was organized by the academic staff of the Department of Therapy of the Institute for Advanced Training and Retraining of Healthcare Personnel of Belarusian State Medical University as part of continuous medical education and further improvement of the provision of medical care to the adult population of the Republic of Belarus. The seminar discussed modern strategies and tactics for managing patients with a wide range of therapeutic diseases from the standpoint of evidence-based medicine and a personalized approach. The seminar was attended by highly qualified specialists: academic staff of the Department of Therapy, Department of Clinical Endocrinology of the Institute of Advanced Medical Training and Retraining of Healthcare Personnel of Belarusian State Medical University, specialists of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center "Cardiology", representatives of the administrations of healthcare institutions of Minsk and practicing doctors - applicants for academic degrees, who have high qualifications and extensive clinical experience, and are proficient in modern treatment and diagnostic technologies.

Students of the volunteer squad "First Aid" of the Faculty of Medicine took part in the 30th International Medical Forum "Healthcare of Belarus-2025", who demonstrated the possibilities of working on the latest simulation equipment, which is used in the training of future and already practicing doctors. As part of the exhibition, volunteers conducted master classes on cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid for airway obstruction and the Heimlich maneuver.

There were also presented were manikins for central vein catheterization, ophthalmoscopy with various types of fundus pathologies, and tracheal intubation. And the bravest visitors of the forum were taught by students of the Military Medical Institute how to stop bleeding of varying severity and localization.

More than a thousand students of our university attended the 30th International Medical Forum "Healthcare of Belarus-2025". For them, this was a unique opportunity to learn about the latest advances in medicine, see cutting-edge technologies and methods, and communicate with experts and practitioners. Students actively participated in master classes and seminars, which allowed them to expand their knowledge and skills necessary for future professional activities.

The International Medical Forum "Healthcare of Belarus" has become an important platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience, which has had a positive impact on the development of healthcare in Belarus and abroad.
