BSMU signed the International Memorandum at the XVII Eurasian Forum of Social Workers
On the 28th of May, in Minsk there was ended the XVII Eurasian Forum of Social Workers, devoted to the topic "Social Work: Global Challenges and Innovative Practices". A delegation from Belarusian State Medical University participated in the event: Vice-Rector for Academic Work Yuri Sokolov, Vice-Rector for International Relations Dmitry Chuikov, and Lyudmila Zhilevich, MD, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of General Medical Practice with a Course in Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine.
On the closing day of the forum, an important event took place: the signing of the International Memorandum of Understanding for a period of five years. The document brought together Belarusian State Medical University, Belarusian Association of Social Workers, the Hong Kong Association of Specialists for Addiction Counsellor, the Hong Kong Psychology Association, and the Mars Academy.
The memorandum aims to develop cooperation in the field of mental health, psychological services, counselling and rehabilitation of addictions, clinical psychology, behavioural sciences, as well as rope therapy, sensory interventions and trauma-informed assistance. The parties agreed to conduct joint seminars, conferences, and training programs, develop certification courses, organize the exchange of teachers, students, and resources, as well as joint clinical and neuropsychological research. The creation of an International Center for Research in Mental Health, Rehabilitation, and Rope Therapy has been identified as a promising area.
The signing of the Memorandum strengthens BSMU's position as an active participant in the international educational and scientific community and opens new opportunities for the implementation of innovative practices in specialist training.
