Reports and master classes were presented by BSMU lecturers at the forum on rehabilitation problems in Uzbekistan

On the 25th and 26th of October, there was held the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Rehabilitation: Modern Approaches, Problems, Prospects” in Urgench, the administrative center of the Khorezm region of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The event was attended by leading experts in the field of rehabilitation from Russia, Uzbekistan, Tatarstan, Pakistan. The Republic of Belarus and Belarusian State Medical University were represented by specialists of the Department of Medical Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine with advanced training and retraining courses - head of the department, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Lyudmila Malkevich and senior lecturer of the department Alena Vanda.

The scientific forum was held at the Urgench branch of Tashkent Medical Academy. First Deputy Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Davron Sultanov and Director of the Urgench branch of Tashkent Medical Academy, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Rashid Ruzibaev addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, emphasizing that representatives of all medical specialties are concerned about the issues of rehabilitation treatment of the population after illnesses and injuries, and the importance and need for medical rehabilitation and the search for new approaches and methods will always be relevant. The two-day conference of scientific discussion confirmed these words.

The report “Medical rehabilitation in the Republic of Belarus. Present and Future”, presented by Lyudmila Malkevich, aroused great interest and served as the basis for many questions from colleagues and forum participants. The topic of Alena Vanda’s report “Medical rehabilitation for scoliotic disease” was also pressing: doctors and students who participated at the sectional meeting asked questions to the speaker and noted that the presented information was useful for them, as it allowed them to learn about new opportunities for restoring patients’ health suffering from this disease.

On the second day of the conference, Alena Vanda conducted a master class “Features of medical rehabilitation for scoliotic disease in young people,” during which she demonstrated various approaches and combinations of kinesitherapy and physiotherapy. The model at the master class was a patient of a rehabilitation center, whose specialists stated the importance of sharing experience and acquired practical skills, which is always in demand in the professional community. During the conference, a wide range of problems of both scientific and a theoretical nature and those affecting applied aspects of the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with different diseases were touched upon. During the round table that concluded the forum, there was expressed a desire to continue the exchange of experience.
