Head of the Reflexology Department, Professor Alexander Sivakov was a participant in the Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on Traditional Medicine

The Head of the Department of Reflexology of the Institute of Advanced Training and Retraining of Healthcare Personnel of the Educational Institution “Belarusian State Medical University”, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Alexander Sivakov took part in the Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on Traditional Medicine – 2023, which took place in the city of Nanchang, Jiangxi Province (PRC) from November 29 to December 1.

Alexander Pavlovich Sivakov attended the plenary and sectional sessions of the forum, and also made a report on the topic “Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in the Republic of Belarus.” In addition, while visiting an exhibition on TCM, the Belarusian scientist got acquainted with medical equipment and medical products, and Traditional Chinese medicines. Together with Chinese partners, the necessary medical equipment and medical supplies were preliminary outlined to equip TCM centers in Belarus in 2024.

During the sectional sessions, Professor Alexander Sivakov was also got acquainted with advanced experience of colleagues from the SCO countries in the field of TCM, the educational process and the organization of cooperation in this area.

In an interview with Jiangxi Province television, which was given on the sidelines of the international event, Professor Alexander Sivakov spoke about the development of TCM in the Republic of Belarus, about cooperation with the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine of the People’s Republic of China and colleagues from the Provinces of Gansu and Zhejiang.

The Head of the Department of Reflexology informed Chinese specialists about the possibilities of obtaining postgraduate medical education (advanced training, retraining, internships, clinical residency) by foreign citizens at the Belarusian State Medical University.
