Belarusian State Medical University, China Association of Medical Equipment and China Sinopharm International Corporation concluded an agreement on cooperation

On the 24^th of September, two events took place at the Great Stone - the opening of a representative office of China Sinopharm International Corporation in Belarus and Exhibition of Medical Equipment, produced by Chinese companies.

The honored guests of the event were represented by the Minister of Health of Belarus Aliaksandr Khajayeu, Deputy Minister of Health Alexander Starovoytov, Deputy Minister of Economy Tatyana Brantsevich, Rector of Belarusian State Medical University, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Sergey Rubnikovich, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China of the Republic of Belarus Zhang Wenchuan, heads of China Sinopharm International Corporation and the Great Stone Industrial Park, and othes.

– The President of our country, Alexander Grigorievich Lukashenko, defined 2024–2025 as years of cooperation between Belarus and China in the fields of science, technology and innovation. Therefore, this exhibition is a practical part of the implementation of this order, – noted at the opening ceremony of the exhibition Aliaksandr Khajayeu. – And the fact that today’s event is being held in the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park “Great Stone” also serves as an example of how we clearly implement the orders of our leaders. I am convinced that this project will contribute to the expansion of bilateral cooperation. The Chinese medical industry is developing rapidly, medical equipment made in China is available, in demand, and has high quality characteristics. Its wide range (diagnostic, surgical, resuscitation equipment) has been introduced into our medicine, so the interest of Belarus is obvious.

Aliaksandr Khajayeu expressed the words of gratitude to his colleagues from China, including “for lending a shoulder during the COVID-19 pandemic” and expressed hope for active cooperation in terms of localization of the production of medical equipment and pharmacy.

A clear indication of the parties' desire for cooperation was the conclusion of agreements. China Association of Medical Equipment and the company China Sinopharm International Corporation (by the way, the celebration on the occasion of the opening of its representative office in Belarus took place an hour earlier in the industrial park) signed a cooperation agreement with Belarusian State Medical University, Vitebsk State Medical University, and the Center for Expertise and Testing in Healthcare and the Republican Unitary Enterprise "Medtechnocenter". These documents were signed by heads of the institutions.

The exhibition of Chinese equipment is taking place at the Trade and Exhibition Center of China Merchants CCHN-BLR CJSC (Pekinsky Avenue, 29). It was organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus and China Association of Medical Equipment. More than 30 leading manufacturers from China present advanced medical equipment and technologies in the areas such as minimally invasive surgery, medical imaging, radiotherapy, infection control, ophthalmology and others. The program includes master classes, presentations, conferences, in which experts from the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Belarus will take part. The forum will last from the 24^th to the 26^th of September.
