The department carries out proactive research work “Medical and social characteristics of non-infectious morbidity of the population of the Republic of Belarus”, registered in the state register of NIOC (T) R No. 20170426 dated 03.29.2017 for the period 2017 - 2021.
To achieve the goal of the study, the public health of the population is assessed: analysis of the dynamics of morbidity, mortality and disability caused by NCDs in the territory of the Republic of Belarus for 2008-2019; study of the characteristics of morbidity, mortality and disability caused by NCDs depending on age, sex, place of residence, quality of life of the population with NCDs.
The staff of the department took part in the development of certain topics and the implementation of research commissioned by the Ministry of Health, scientific and technical programs - Republican Scientific and Practical Center “Cardiology”, Republican Scientific and Practical Center “Mother and Child” - “The relationship between mother's health, duration of breastfeeding and health status, physical, neurocognitive development their children” (Grant of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, McGill University, 2017); editing and publishing conference materials, scientific publications.
The department trains 1 doctoral student, 1 graduate student (applicants).
