More than 30 students of 1-5 courses of the Faculty of Dentistry are occupied annually with the scientific student circle of the Department of General Dentistry. Goals and objectives of the research work of students at the department are based on the principles and provisions of the student scientific society Charter of the university.
The directions of student researches are consistent with the research topics of the department and cover a wide range of urgent problems of modern dentistry.
The results of students' research work are reported at plenary sessions of the circle, annual scientific conferences of students and young scientists of BSMU and in other universities of the Republic of Belarus and abroad.
The best works of students are presented for participation in the Republican competition. Many of the works were awarded Diplomas of I, II and III degrees.
The results of the most significant and interesting studies are published in conference proceedings, as well as on the pages of professional dental journals.
In total, more than 50 printed works have been published by the students. In addition, it should be noted that the results of student research are being introduced into practice, and also reflected in the educational process.
Along with research work, 2nd year students of the Faculty of Dentistry and the Faculty of Medicine of foreign students take part in the Olympiads of professional skills, held annually at the department.
