Research work of Propaedeutics of Dentistry and Materials Science

Scientific activity is part of the research work of the department "Development of modern algorithms, technologies and materials for improving methods of treatment of pathology of hard tissues of teeth and dentition" (state registration No. 22-29 / 3789 of 23.07.2019, head - head of the department, associate professor T.V. Krushynina, period of implementation - 2019 - 2024).

Within the framework of the Research work theme for the period since 1997 at the Department of General Dentistry under the leadership of the Head of the Department, Associate Professor N.M. Poloneichik, 10 candidate dissertations have been defended (Gres N.A. 2003, Timoshenko M.V. 2004, Tereshchenko E.N. 2004, Manak T.N. 2004, Getman N.V. 2005, Malkovets O.G. 2005, Chistyakova G.G. 2006, Tagieva F.R., 2019, Kronivets N.A., 2020, Manatina V.I., 2020). Under the leadership of Chistyakova G.G. Ph.D. thesis was defended (Petrоuk A.A., 2018). January 22, 2016 Manak Tatyana Nikolaevna defended her doctoral dissertation on the topic: COMPREHENSIVE DIAGNOSTICS AND TREATMENT OF DISEASES OF THE PULP AND APICAL PERIODONT (CLINICAL EXPERIMENTAL STUDY). Under the leadership of T.N. Manak Ph.D. thesis was defended (Chernysheva T.V., 2015), and under the leadership of Doctor of Medical Sciences, MD T.N. Manak  thesis was defended by Savistikova O.S. (2020).

Currently, the department is carrying out 1 doctoral (candidate of medical sciences, associate professor G.G. Chistyakova) and 6 candidate medical thesis (assistants, Checha S.N., Sakhar G.G., Lepesheva E. V., Petrazhitskaya G.V., Durovich E.V., Kurakevich A.V.).

According to the results of scientific research, the staff of the department published more than 800 scientific articles and abstracts in domestic and foreign publications. Teachers presented more than 600 scientific reports at congresses, congresses and seminars of international (Germany, USA, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Russia), republican, regional and local significance.

The staff of the department received 22 patents for inventions and 17 patents for useful models. The results of scientific research are being introduced into practical health care. The Ministry of Health has approved over 20 instructions for the use of new materials and methods of treating dental diseases.

Since 2000, the department has been organizing and conducting annual International scientific and practical conferences on dentistry with the invitation of leading specialists from foreign countries.

Since 1999, the department has been a member of the Association for the Support and Implementation of Dental Health Programs in Developing Countries, created under the International Federation of Dentists (FDI).

Light-curing restorative material and adhesive system

The first Belarusian dental light-curing restoration material «Migrofil» and the one-component light-curing adhesive system «Migrobond» were developed jointly with the team of the Research Laboratory FHI and SMMI Grodno Research and Design Institute of the Nitrogen Industry and Organic Synthesis Products.

The materials are registered and approved for production, sale and medical use on the territory of the Republic of Belarus. Producer of JSC GIAP Grodno.

High performance glass ionomer cement

Together with the team of authors of the Department of HTVM UO BSTU, Research Laboratory FKhI and SMMI Grodno Research and Design Institute of Nitrogen Industry and Organic Synthesis Products, a highly effective glass ionomer cement «Endosil» has been developed for filling root canals using gutta-percha pins. The material is registered and approved for production, sale and medical use in the territory of the Republic of Belarus. Producer of JSC GIAP Grodno.

Together with the group of authors of the Research Laboratory of FKhI and SMMI of the Grodno Research and Design Institute of the Nitrogen Industry and Organic Synthesis Products, a glass ionomer filling material «Giofil» has been developed. Veneering ceramic material for metal-ceramic prostheses

Together with the team of authors of the Department of HTVM UO BSTU developed the first domestic facing ceramic material for metal-ceramic prostheses «Migrostek». The hemostatic agent «Alyustat» was developed on the basis of the Scientific and Production Republican Unitary Enterprise «Lotios» together with the Department of General Dentistry, UO BSMU. Restorative dental composite material of chemical curing «Migrofil XO»

Together with the team of research laboratory FHI and SMMI Grodno Research and Design Institute of the Nitrogen Industry and Organic Synthesis Products, a chemical-curing dental restorative dental composite material «Migrofil XO» was developed, the medical tests of which were completed in 2015.
