Traditional methods of teaching the discipline (lectures, practical exercises, as well as elements of controlled independent work of students) are used for organizing training at the department.

Students examine the ear, pharynx, nose, larynx, study the etiopathogenesis of diseases of the upper respiratory tract during practical classes. Independent work of students is organized during extracurricular work and includes the solution of situational problems, participation in research work.

Students are taught techniques and features of working with instruments used to examine patients and perform manipulations, international requirements and ethical standards when examining patients, taking anamnesis and performing manipulations.

Innovative teaching technologies are used:

  • educational videos
  • presentations on audiometry, endoscopy
  • digital radiographs
  • computer tomograms

Education is organized using modern educational and informational methods (computer presentations of lectures and practical exercises), interactive resources in the local computer network of the university and the Internet. Posters and videos are also used.

The students visit the ENT offices of the admission departments, where patients deind examined and receive emergency help.

In addition to theoretical classes, which are held in classrooms, students have the opportunity to be present during examinations of patients by doctors of departments, to be in operating rooms, observing the surgical interventions on ENT organs, including using endoscopic equipment, laser devices.

Educational and methodical work

The student's academic achievements are assessed using the fund of assessment tools and technologies of the university:

  • tasks in various forms (oral, written, test, situational, etc.);
  • tests;
  • educational case histories and the results of additional research methods (laboratory, functional, radiation, etc.);
  • educational research work of students;
  • other diagnostic tools in accordance with the curriculum.
