The department provides training in two specialties: «Neurology» and «Neurosurgery». The training is carried out both in full-time and in the form of extramural education. Clinical residents can receive training at the expense of the budget or on a paid basis.
The purpose of the clinical residency is to train highly qualified medical specialists with the necessary volume of professional and legal knowledge in accordance with the requirements of practical health care. The study of theoretical material is carried out by clinical residents independently and according to recommendations of the supervisor by analyzing specialty related scientific literature, current regulatory documents and State development programs of the Republic of Belarus, approved by the President of the Republic of Belarus and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus. A work in neurological, neurosurgical, intensive care, clinical diagnostic, rehabilitation departments in hospitals of corresponding profile is envisaged to master the practical skills. Considering the specialization of the departments, clinical residents master diagnostic and therapeutic technologies relevant to diseases of the nervous system management, study the basics of healthcare management, medical informatics and computer technologies, as well as individual sections of clinical pharmacology.
Over the past decades, the clinical residency has been successfully completed by representatives of several countries in Asia, Africa and Europe: Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, China, Latvia, Lebanon, Libya, Palestine, Russia, Syria, Turkmenistan.
