The main goal of educational and methodological work of the department is to create conditions leading to increase of the efficacy and quality parameters of educational process.
Methodological work includes a set of activities aimed at:
- support of the educational process with educational and methodological complexes,
- improvement of the teachers’ pedagogical skills, enhancement of the students work in the classroom and independently,
- improvement of all forms, types and methods of educational work, taking into account the state and prospects of development of neurology and neurosurgery.
The solution of tasks that ensure achievement of methodological work goals is carried out at the department in the following areas:
- improvement of methods neurology and neurosurgery teaching, direct methodological support of the educational process, introduction of the recommendations developed as a result of a research work, improvement of the teaching staff pedagogical qualifications;
- study and generalization of an advanced experience, the prospective development of the learning process, improvement of its content and teaching methods, the search for new principles, patterns, methods, forms and means of organizing and technology of the educational process;
- organizational and methodological work, covering activities for the management of methodological work.
At the Department of Nervous and Neurosurgical Diseases, 4th year students are being trained in the academic discipline «Neurology and Neurosurgery» in the specialties: 1-79 01 01 «General Medicine», 1-79 01 02 «Pediatrics» and 1-79 01 07 «Dentistry». Training is carried out in the specialties «Neurology» and «Neurosurgery».
Modern information technologies are widely used in the educational process - computer test control, Internet resources, training computer programs, video presentations of lectures. One of the most important directions of the methodological work of the departments’ staff is the creation of teaching aid complexes for the students’ independent work. Currently, due to the remote learning system, students have access to the electronic educational and methodological complexes containing comprehensive information for preparation to classes and self-control.
In the period from 2015 to 2020 1 textbook and 11 teaching aids were published.
