The department is an integral part of the Republic Rheumatological Center.
A large volume of medical and consulting work is carried out every day in the therapeutic clinic and departments of the State Institution “Minsk Scientific and Practical Center for Surgery, Transplantology and Hematology”. Professors and associate professors of the department also consult patients in the Republican Clinical Medical Center of the Office of the President of the Republic of Belarus (Soroka N.F.), the Minsk City Consulting and Diagnostic Center (Soroka N.F., Apanasovich V.G., Grigorchuk I.P.), Central district polyclinic №2 in Minsk, during trips to the regions of the republic on the line of emergency medical care.
During the year, more than 10,000 patients are consulted and about 100 complex diagnostic procedures and studies are performed.
The following diagnostic manipulations and studies are carried out: intragastric and intraesophageal pH monitoring, intra-articular drug administration, etc.
A number of new methods of diagnostics and treatment of internal diseases have been introduced into the practice of the basic medical institution (State Institution “Minsk Scientific and Practical Center for Surgery, Transplantology and Hematology”). Among them are the method of daily monitoring of ECG and blood pressure, daily intragastric and intraesophageal pH-metry, monometry of the lower esophageal sphincter, the method of magnetotherapy in the complex treatment of acute coronary syndrome, pulse therapy with glucocorticoids and cytostatics and many other scientific developments of the department.
The teachers of the department devote a lot of time to the promotion of medical knowledge among the population by participating in TV and radio programs, publishing articles for population.
