The educational work of the department is regarded as an important factor in increasing the level of professional training of medical students. Particular attention is paid to educational work for senior courses, which is essential part of the formation of moral and civic qualities of a young doctor.
Throughout the year, the lecturers of the department constantly conduct conversations on various aspects of civil-patriotic, moral-aesthetic and legal education in groups of 4-6 year students. Weekly information hours are held in student groups to discuss issues of economic, political and cultural life in the Republic of Belarus and in the world. Students are taught the principles of a healthy lifestyle and giving up bad habits.
Taking an active part in the work of educating young people and forming the principles of a healthy lifestyle in them, the staff of the department give interviews and articles in the media.
The lecturers of the 2nd Department of Internal Medicine annually hold internal medicine Olympiads for 5th year students.
To ensure that students acquire professional skills, special attention is paid to teaching students the ability to communicate with patients. In order to develop the skills of organizing joint work, the ability to manage and obey the common interests of each group of the 6th year, clinical conferences are held under the guidance of a lecturers on topical issues of medicine and medical ethics.
The staff of the department, together with the students, provide charitable assistance to orphanages, animal shelters.
