The educational and methodical work of the Department of Internal Diseases, Cardiology and Rheumatology with a course of advanced training and retraining staff is aimed at organizing the educational process, preparing training programs and electronic educational and methodical complexes (E-learning BSMU), training manuals on the topics of practical classes with the development of new forms of intermediate and final control of students' knowledge. In order to improve the teaching process, the Department conducts open practical classes and lectures, master classes.

The Department provides training in the following specialties:

Specialty 1-79 01 01 “General Medicine” for the students of 1, 4-6 years of the Faculty of General Medicine, Medical Faculty for International Students.

Specialty 1-79 01 03 «Medical preventive work» for the students of 1 year of the Faculty of Preventive Medicine.

The traditional method of training students is the method of program-oriented and practice-oriented training. Working training programs on Internal Diseases, Clinical Immunology, Allergology, Clinical Rheumatology and Clinical Pathological Physiology are regularly updated in order to comply with modern changes and additions in the current standards for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of the studied pathology.

In the 2017-2020 academic year, the teachers of the Department developed and approved the following educational and program documentation of higher education institutions for the specialty 1-79 01 01 “General Medicine” for the students of 1, 4-6 years of the Medical Faculty for International Students:

  1. Curriculum of higher educational institution in Clinical Rheumatology.
  2. Curriculum of higher educational institution in Clinical Pathological Physiology.
  3. Curriculum of higher educational institution in Clinical Immunology, Allergology.
  4. Curriculum of higher educational institution of elective courses:
  • Current problems in Gastroenterology.
  • New approaches to diagnosis and treatment of kidney diseases.
  • Electrocardiological diagnosis of myo- and pericardial diseases.
  • Innovative diagnosis and treatment of systemic connective tissue diseases.

The control of students' knowledge is carried out both through oral questioning and using tests and situational tasks, control written works and clinical analysis of patients. The results of students passing course and state exams in Internal Medicine are analyzed at the meetings of the Department.

Within the framework of preparation for conducting an objective structured clinical examination (OSKE), the teachers of the department are working on the development of passports for the OSKE examination stations for 5th year students who have completed medical clinical practice and graduates of educational organizations who have received higher education on the educational program in accordance with the State Educational Standard for specialty 1-79 01 01 "General Medicine".
