At meetings that are held monthly and not only at the department itself and at other bases (CIDH, 5th City Clinical Hospital, etc.), also at the field sessions (in the hostel No. 2 of the Belarusian State Medical University). Members of the group under the guidance of teachers make reports, study different cases from medical practice. Usually interesting patient are discussed and thematic films are shown there.
The areas of interest which are reflected in student scientific works are different: neonatology, gastroenterology, pulmonology, nephrology, cardiology, endocrinology, hematology.
Traditionally, the leading interests of the department were pulmonology and gastroenterology.
It is no coincidence that the department is headed by the chief freelance specialists of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus Associate professor I.I. Savanovich. She is a pediatric gastroenterologist.
The main freelance pediatric specialist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus works at the department. He is a pediatric pulmonologist, Associate professor V.I. Bobrovnichiy.

The topics of SSS meetings and student research works for the annual April scientific conference are discussed together with the stuff of the departments and students who are interested in. Due to the fact that the department has many bases and supervised departments are multi-profiled, there is the possibility of clinical examination and analysis of patients of different ages with a wide variety of pathologies.

From 23 to 26 September 2015, the European Student Conference was held in Berlin at the Charite Clinic. It is one of the largest university hospitals in Europe. The theme of this conference was “Science Or Fiction? - Imagine the Future of Medicine!”
The organizers of the conference were convinced that the enthusiasm of talented young medical students could create the impulse for solving the problems of the 21st century. During this conference, we received new information. We improve our practical skills through seminars, lectures, workshops.
The conference lasted 4 days, during which we knew the Charite Clinic better, also we visited the main attractions of the beautiful capital of Germany.
The first hearings of student papers were held on the second day of the conference. All sections were divided into classes in which students performed their work according to the sections. For example, the Pediatrics section, which was one of the largest sections, was located in the red room.
Sections “Ophthalmology”, “Obstetrics and Gynecology” were in the green room. So the commission, which calculated the points of the participants, was much easier and more convenient to navigate in the works which were presented.
The participants should show their knowledge about the topic they chose. Also they should to convince the commission that the topic they had chosen is currently relevant. To suggest the way of solving problems which exist in the sphere of medicine - that is what deserves huge praise!
We really liked the workshop that was held on the campus in real time “Bariatric surgery”.
It should be noted that the organizers of the conference kept us busy in our free time. Conference organizers created different social programs so we can have pleasant time in Berlin. You could choose a social program you want. The preferences of your guests were taken into account. We chose the program which was called “Berlin in Art”. We were told a lot of interesting facts about the art of Berlin, we were led along those streets of the city that are hidden from prying eyes. Magnificent graffiti made a special impression on us. It was very exciting!
At the end of the conference the students of the Charite organized an excellent buffet for us. There was champagne, light snacks. It is what you need for lively conversations with your colleagues.
And here they are - the organizers of this whole wonderful, rich, bright, memorable conference! Do you know what is most important? The most important fact is that organizers of the conference were average STUDENTS! You cannot convey everything that they had organized for us during these 4 days. Distribute responsibilities, take matters into your own hands! You may say that it is so easy? Try to do it! Every second person will want to do it. But only every tenth will do it... @ CharitéCampusVirchow – Klinikum (CVK)
From the bottom of our hearts we would like to express our deep gratitude to the 2nd Department of Childhood Diseases and our scientific supervisor of the SSC Associate Professor Loginova I.A. for awakening such an interest in science! And we will try to carry our potential through the years of difficult, but such an exciting science!
