Scientific Research

Scientific research is one of the most important areas of the Department’s activity. Every year academic staff of the Department applies for and receives the research grants from Governmental and International Institutions. As many as 9 research projects are being currently headed and carried on by the Department’s academic staff. Close collaboration with National Academy of Sciences (Institute of Cytology and Genetics, Institute of Microbiology), National Scientific and Practical Centers, other departments of the University is the key point to receive high quality data and implement them in day-to-day clinical practice. During the year 2020 academic staff of the Department published 30 papers in the national Medical Journals, 20 papers in international Journals, published abroad, including 5 indexed in Scopus and 14 – in Google Scholar.

Research activity is highly promoted among students at our Department. Every year dozens of scientific reports (oral and poster) in various fields of pediatrics are presented by young investigators supervised by Professors, Associate and Assistant Professors of 1st Department of Children’s diseases. Year to year among laureates of the Republican Contest of Students’ Scientific Works in the field of medical and biological sciences many of our students and graduates can be seen. The best young investigators are proposed to continue their research as Post-Graduate students at out Department.
