XXIII International Scientific and Practical Forum "Ratner Readings"

From the 21st of May to the 22nd of May, there was held the 23rd International Scientific and Practical Forum "Ratner Readings" at the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan in Kazan. The event brought together specialists from various regions of Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Stavropol, Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod, and others), as well as from neighbouring countries and beyond, including Belarus, Kazakhstan, Israel, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan. Leonid Shalkevich, Head of the Department of Pediatric Neurology of Belarusian State Medical University, Doctor of Medical Sciences, and Professor, participated in the forum with a report entitled "Clinical Interpretation of EEG in Children without Epileptic Seizures". Active questions from the audience and online chat confirmed that the problem of clinical interpretation of EEG in children is interdisciplinary in nature and actual for neurologists, neurophysiologists, psychiatrists, and pediatricians.

The Forum "Ratner Readings" traditionally represent not just a forum, but a space for meaningful dialogue on complex issues that define the modern professional reality of the norm and pathology of the nervous system in children. The program included presentations by leading experts in child neurology, whose research form the current scientific agenda in pediatrics and neurology. This year, the forum included not only an in-person format but also online participation, significantly expanding the opportunities for participation by specialists from different cities and countries.

The Forum “Ratner Readings” provided an opportunity for specialists to exchange experiences, analyze the practices of leading clinical and scientific centers, and become familiar with modern diagnostic approaches and therapeutic methods that have proven their effectiveness in the clinical work of pediatric neurologists. The level of Belarusian scientific research in the field of pediatric neurology was highly appreciated by leading speakers. The forum contributed to raising professional standards and strengthening interactions between universities, research institutes, and healthcare practitioners. During the meeting, a number of agreements were reached on joint scientific and practical activities between pediatric neurologists from Russia and Belarus.
