The results of the international conference dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of Professor Pyotr Lobko have been summed up

The international scientific and practical conference “Achievements of modern morphology”, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of the Honored Scientist of the Republic of Belarus, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Pyotr Iosifovich Lobko, was held on September 27 at the educational institution “Belarusian State Medical University”. It was organized by the Department of Normal Anatomy.

The forum brought together anatomists, histologists, topographic anatomists, pathologists, doctors and students engaged in morphological research from Belarus, different parts of Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Malaysia. Thus, a large team of lecturers and students came from the partner First Moscow State Medical University named after I.M. Sechenov, including head of the Department of Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Sergei Dydykin and professor of the same department, Doctor of Medical Sciences Yuri Vasiliev.

The Patrice Lumumba Peoples' Friendship University of Russia was represented by Professor of the Department of Human Anatomy, Doctor of Medical Sciences Svetlana Valerievna and her colleagues.

The international conference was also attended by our friends from Voronezh State Medical University named after N.N. Burdenko. These were representatives of three departments: Department of Human Anatomy - ssociate professors Anna Kvaratskhelia and Zhanna Anokhina, Department of Histology, Cytology and Embryology - head of the department, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Victoria Shishkina with a colleague, Department of Pathological Anatomy - head of the department, Candidate of Medical Sciences, associate professor Andrey Filin with his colleagues.

Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Doctor of Biological Sciences, professor, leading researcher of the Central Pathoanatomical Laboratory Lyudmila Erofeeva was the representative of Avtsyn Research Institute of Human Morphology. Smolensk State Medical University was represented by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Histology, Cytology and Embryology Irina and her two colleagues.

Volga Research Medical University (Nizhny Novgorod) was represented by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Normal Anatomy Larisa Nikonova, and head of the Department of Histology, Cytology and Embryology, Doctor of Medical Sciences Marina Leonidovna Bugrova.

In addition to our permanent partner medical universities, for the first time the conference was attended  by the colleagues from:

– Tyumen State Medical University: Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, head of the Department of Human Anatomy Tatyana Chiryatieva and her colleagues and students;

– Bashkir State Medical University: Associate Professor of the Department of Human Anatomy Ramil Minigazimov, Associate Professor of the Department of Medical Physics and Informatics Marat Zeleev, Associate Professor of the Department of Topographic Anatomy and Operative Surgery Firuza Gibadullina;

– University of Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) (Malaysia, Kota Samarahan city) – Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Fundamental Medical Sciences Marina Kapitonova;

– Russian National Research Medical University named after N. I. Pirogov - Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Human Anatomy and Histology Anastasia Bakhmet;

– Osh State University (Kyrgyzstan) – Associate Professor of the Department of Anatomy, Histology and Normal Physiology of the International Medical Faculty Nazgul Tashmatova;

– Reaviz Medical University (St. Petersburg) – graduate students.

The conference program included 165 oral and poster presentations from Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Malaysia and Lebanon.

Vice-Rector for International Relations of Belarusian State Medical University, Professor of the Department of Normal Anatomy, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Vasili Roudenok addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. He thanked the foreign participants of the international conference and wished everyone a fruitful time, active interaction between medical universities on scientific issues and organization of the educational process.

A welcoming speech was also given by Vice-Rector for Research of Belarusian State Medical University, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Vasily Filonyuk. He drew the attention of those gathered to the personality of Professor Pyotr Lobko, who would have turned 95 years old this year, and offered assistance from the university administration to the staff of the Department of Normal Anatomy in facilitating the installation of a memorial plaque to the professor in his hometown of Kletsk. Vasily Filonyuk expressed gratitude to the staff of the department for holding such conferences in memory of heads of the Department of Normal anatomy, who made a great contribution to the development of science in Belarus.

The word of greeting was offered to Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Sergei Gubkin, a man who did a lot to ensure that the conference participants received a monograph as a gift, dedicated to the life and creative path of Professor P. I. Lobko. He wished everyone to have a useful time and exchange experience in teaching morphological disciplines. Head of the Department of Normal Anatomy, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Natalia Trushel thanked Sergei Gubkin for his help in preparing and publishing the monograph.

At the plenary session, the first detailed report on “The scientific, pedagogical and social activities of Professor P. I. Lobko” was made by his student, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Galina Solntseva. She spoke about her lecturer as an easy-to-communicate person, always ready to help, and also about a great scientist who trained 42 students (7 Doctors of Science and 35 Candidates of Science).

Representative of the Department of Normal Anatomy of Grodno State Medical University, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Fatima Gadzhieva informed about the contribution of Pyotr Lobko to the development of anatomical science in the Grodno region and gave her regards to all participants of the conference rom the rector of Grodno State Medical University, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Igor Zhuk and head of the Department of Normal Anatomy, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Evgeniy Okolokulak.

The plenary session was concluded by the report of Professor of the Department of Human Anatomy of Vitebsk State Medical University, Doctor of Medical Sciences Alexander Usovich, who spoke about the contribution of Professor P. I. Lobko to the formation of Vitebsk State Medical University.

It should be said that there was a very warm atmosphere at the plenary session and each participant could remember episodes associated with Pyotr Iosifovich Lobko. Thus, head of the laboratory of clinical pathophysiology of the nervous system of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Neurology and Neurosurgery, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Natalia Nechipurenko spoke about such moments in her life.

The granddaughter of Pyotr Lobko, Olga Aniskova, was also present at the conference, and the staff of the Department of Normal Anatomy presented her with a monograph dedicated to the professor.

An exhibition of Professor Lobko’s printed works, the amount of which is more than 400, was timed to coincide with the event.

… At the sectional sessions, reports were made on the development and structure of organs and organ systems in normal conditions, in pathology and in experiments, on the clinical anatomy of organs, as well as reports where conference participants shared their experience in improving the efficiency of teaching morphological disciplines. The speakers spoke both in person and online.

For the first time, a section “Young Morphological Scientists” was organized within the framework of the conference, where reports from graduate and undergraduate students were heard and 1st, 2nd and 3rd places were determined. The students were presented with gifts from sponsors. All scientific reports were very interesting, the guys asked a lot of questions and discussed issues. And this is very important, because it is necessary to interest young people to be engaged in scientific activities from their student days.

According to the forum audience, holding such conferences is significant for the exchange of experience between domestic and foreign scientists, maintaining cooperation between lecturers of medical universities from different countries.

The next day, an excursion program was organized to the Dududki Museum Complex of Ancient Folk Crafts and Technologies, which made an indelible impression on the guests.
