Traditional Chinese Medicine is in the spotlight: a delegation from the People's Republic of China visited Belarusian State Medical University
On the 18th of June, our university was visited by a delegation from the People's Republic of China, who arrived in Belarus to participate in the Rectors' Forum and the Forum of Young Scientists of Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The Chinese delegation included representatives from leading medical universities: Bai Junjie, Member of the Party Standing Committee and Vice Rector of Xinjiang Medical University; Ying Zhang, Head of the Teaching Section of the Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Xinjiang Medical University; Shujuan Wen, Director of Lymphoma Department, Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University; Wei Peng, Deputy Director of International Exchanges and Cooperation Department at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine
From the side of BSMU, the meeting was attended by Vice-Rector for International Relations Dmitry Chuikov; Head of the Department of Reflexology of the Institute of Advanced Training and Retraining of Healthcare Personnel, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Alexander Sivakov; Professor of the Department of Normal Anatomy, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Vasili Roudenok; Associate Professor of the Department of Medical Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine with a course of advanced training and retraining, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Elena Sushchenya.
The key topic of the negotiations was cooperation in the field of traditional Chinese medicine. The parties discussed promising educational and scientific projects and agreed on further fruitful cooperation for the benefit of the peoples of Belarus and China!
Following the first part of the meeting, the delegation visited the anatomical museum and the university's key educational facility—the new Simulation and Certification Center of Higher Education. The guests highly evaluated the level of students’ training, the material and technical base of Belarusian State Medical University. We are sure that this partnership will be the starting point for significant achievements that will make a significant contribution to the future of medicine.
