Sergey Rubnikovich: “The visit to Nanjing Medical University allowed us to exchange experiences with the colleagues from China and discuss the prospects for cooperation”

С целью углубления взаимодействия между Китаем и Беларусью в области медицинского образования и науки во исполнение Директивы № 9 от 3 декабря 2021 года Президента Республики Беларусь «О развитии двусторонних отношений Республики Беларусь с Китайской Народной On the 7^th – 12^th of October, in order to deepen the cooperation between China and Belarus in the field of medical education and science, and in accordance with the Directive of the President of the Republic of Belarus № 9 dated the 3^rd of December, 2021, “ On the development of bilateral relations of the Republic of Belarus with the People's Republic of China”, as well as in the frameworks of the implementation of agreements reached during the visit to Belarus of the government delegation led by the Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang, Rector of Belarusian State Medical University, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Sergey Rubnikovich visited Nanjing Medical University.

It should be noted that Nanjing Medical University is a long-time partner of the leading institution of higher medical education in Belarus, and the representatives of this university came to Minsk several times to discuss the progress and prospects of the long-term cooperation with the leadership of BSMU. And one such example is the holding of joint scientific and practical conferences on medical issues, including those related to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the new coronavirus infection COVID-19 and other topics of interest to the medical communities of the two countries.

… Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Sergei Rubnikovich spoke at the conference on innovation and development of medicine dedicated to the 90^th  anniversary of Nanjing Medical University, where he presented the achievements of Belarusian State Medical University in education, medical science, healthcare, and international activities.

As the Rector of Belarusian State Medical University said upon his return to Minsk, participation in the conference made it possible to exchange experiences with the colleagues from China on pressing issues of practice-oriented medical education, implementation of scientific projects, organization of continuing medical education, cooperation in the humanitarian sphere.

Sergey Rubnikovich also held negotiations with the President of Nanjing Medical University, Professor Zhibin Hu. There had been discussed the issues of academic and scientific interaction: plans for the implementation of joint educational and scientific projects, academic mobility of students and lecturers, and holding joint conferences. The parties also paid attention to other aspects of inter-university cooperation.

As a result of the negotiations, the parties agreed upon the offline participation of dental professors from Nanjing Medical University in the annual international congress on dentistry (with the presentation of reports).

This forum is planned to take place in Minsk from the 13^th to the 15^th of November. During the visit, there had been signed an Agreement on academic exchange of lecturers and students of Belarusian State Medical University and Nanjing Medical University.

In addition, Rector of BSMU visited the Medical Simulation Center of Nanjing Medical University, where he got acquainted with the experience of the organization of simulation training in the People's Republic of China. There had also been held negotiations regarding bilateral cooperation in simulation training (for example, organization of master classes for lecturers, who carry out training at Simulation and Certification Center of Higher Education and the Republican Center for Professional Certification and Simulation Training of Medical and Pharmaceutical Workers).

Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Sergey Rubnikovich also visited the Dental Clinic of Jiangsu Province, the People's Hospital of Jiangsu Province, and the 2nd Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University. The purpose of these visits is to become familiar with the organization of medical and dental care to the population.

According to the Rector of Belarusian State Medical University, his stay at Nanjing Medical University contributed to strengthening of contacts between the two higher educational institutions in the academic and scientific fields, and provided the opportunity to exchange experiences in the educational process, the activities of university clinics and simulation centers.
