Participation of students of the Medical Faculty for International Students in the Fair of Student Scientific Circles
There was held a fair of student scientific circles, organised by the Student Scientific Society, at BSMU. The event brought together students from various faculties who presented their research areas, interactive zones, and quizzes. The goal of the fair was to popularize scientific activities among students and their acquaintance with the work of existing circles. Among the active participants of the fair were students from the Medical Faculty for International Students, who presented their research groups and projects being implemented in the university's departments.
As part of the fair, students of the faculty informed the visitors about the work of the following clubs:
·Alina Tsyretarova (head of the student scientific circle of pediatric dentistry) demonstrated the importance and touching nature of work with the youngest patients and shared the latest developments in the prevention and treatment of pediatric dental diseases.
· Deniz Kyr spoke about the activities of the student scientific circle of the Latin language, emphasizing the role of Latin in the professional training of doctors.
· Chandrakumar Logehan (head of the student scientific circle of Belarusian and Russian languages) and his assistants Shadi Baituni and Venupragash Pratipkumar introduced the guests to the work of the circle, which focuses on language adaptation and the study of disciplines in Russian and Belarusian languages.
· Tanushya Rasakumar (head of the biological chemistry circle) focused the attention of exhibition guests on scientific research devoted to studying the patterns of metabolic disorders in lung cells during acute respiratory failure.
· Head of the pathological physiology circle Kiriellagé Dona Hemalja Kiriella (6429) and the curator of the circle Hemalja Kiriella spoke about modern methods of experimental pathophysiology: modeling of pathologies (for example, ischemia, inflammatory processes, dysfunction of the cardiovascular system), analysis of biochemical and morphological changes, as well as working with data in laboratory conditions under the guidance of experienced lecturers and research fellows.
Ruwanmi Bandara, head of the student scientific circle of pharmacology spoke about the role of the circle, and emphasized that that the circle plays an important role in the development of a modern physician and researcher. Being an integral part of the educational process, it offers students the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and develop scientific inclinations and interests in the field of pharmacology and pharmacotherapy.
Enuli Hasani Weerawardan, head of the Normal Anatomy circle, spoke about the potential of the club's activities for students, who gain the opportunity to independently formulate hypotheses, design experiments, analyze results, and prepare reports. These aren't just extracurricular activities—they prepare them for participation in student conferences, competitions and, in the future, for writing theses and for the admission to a PhD programme.
Dovletgeldi Dzhoraev, a first-year student of the Faculty of Medicine for International Students majoring in Dentistry, presented the student scientific circle of the Department of Human Morphology, which is one of the first steps in training scientific and teaching staff and plays an important role in shaping clinical thinking and the professional development of future dentists.
The head of the pathological anatomy circle, Reziyan Kurosh Abbas, and the club's curators, Sakhishnavi Baranitharan and Logehan Chandrakumar, demonstrated to the audience modern technologies used at the department. This allows not only to study the anatomy of pathologies, but also to understand their biological essence, which is especially important in the context of the rapid development of personalized medicine.
Besides, students of the faculty took an active part in the presentation of scientific directions at the departments of endocrinology, normal physiology and human anatomy. At the fair, they introduced the visitors with the topics of their research, demonstrated educational and scientific materials, and answered questions.
Thanks are expressed to everyone who participated in the preparation and holding of the event, including heads of student scientific circles, volunteers and visitors. The fair is planned to become an annual event.
