International Roundtable "Observation and Monitoring of Migrants' Health: Experiences in Interdepartmental Cooperation"
On the initiative of the Working Group on Tuberculosis under the Coordinating Council on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria of the CIS Member States under the Council for Cooperation in Healthcare of the CIS, on May 20, there was held a round table meeting with the participation of representatives of ministries and departments of nine countries, the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States, the Eurasian Economic Commission, the International Organization for Migration, the WHO Regional Office for Europe, the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the CIS Executive Committee.
There were discussed actual issues of accessibility of medical care at tuberculosis for migrant workers from the CIS countries, experience and the best practices in interdepartmental cooperation, labor migration legislation, and more.
Zhanna Krivosheeva, Associate Professor of the Department of Pulmonology, Phthisiology, Allergology and Occupational Pathology with a course of advanced training and retraining, who is a representative of educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus in the working group on tuberculosis of the CIS member states, took part in the round table.
In her report "Tuberculosis in International Students in the Republic of Belarus", Zhanna Krivosheeva presented the results of monitoring the incidence of tuberculosis, the specifics and challenges of identifying and treating it in international students, and proposed options for screening for tuberculosis in students from countries with high tuberculosis incidence.
The final recommendations of the Round Table for national authorities of the CIS member states and the CIS Council for Cooperation in Healthcare were adopted.
