BSMU in Global Racking: Results-2025

Participation in international rankings is a tool for strategic development for BSMU. This promotes the university's integration into the global educational community and the adaptation of its activities to international standards, which is already confirmed by the university's growing position in prestigious global rankings.

BSMU is strengthening its position as the flagship of medical education in Belarus, which is clearly reflected in international rankings.

The University consistently occupies the first place among all medical universities in the country in leading rankings such as UniRank and Webometrics Ranking of World Universities.

According to the data of Ranking Web of Universities (Webometrics Ranking of World Universities), in 2025 BSMU was among the top ten universities and took the honorable second place, reaching the 3422 place in the world university ranking out of 32,000 ones. Among the medical universities of Belarus, Belarusian State Medical University maintains its leading (the first) position in the ranking. According to the latest Webometrics Ranking of World Universities, between 2020 and 2025, BSMU's global ranking doubled from 7313 to 3422.

In 2025, the international UniRank ranking (4 International colleges & Universities) confirmed BSMU's leadership in the national educational space. The university strengthened its position, taking first place among medical universities in the country and entering the top three out of 48 Belarusian universities. Globally, BSMU was ranked among the top 3,123 universities in the world out of 13,900 assessed, highlighting its growing international competitiveness.

Belarusian State Medical University successfully represents the country in one of the most prestigious and comprehensive global rankings—the Moscow International Ranking "Three University Missions". Assessing the contribution of universities to education, science and society, the ranking included BSMU in the group of 1401-1500 best universities in the world in competition with 2,500 participants from more than 150 countries. At the national level, the university ranks the 2^nd place among medical universities and a confident 3^rd place among the 14 leading universities in Belarus.

In the BRICS ranking, BSMU is placed in the 351–400 category out of 750 universities worldwide, while occupying the 4^th place in the national ranking of 16 Belarusian universities.

In the SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR), which evaluates research activity, BSMU is listed as the only medical university in Belarus and occupies a high second position in the national ranking, which underlines its weight in the scientific community.

The international EduRank ranking places BSMU in the 3,790^th place out of 14,131 universities worldwide. Domestically, the university maintains a top-five ranking, ranking fourth among 49 Belarusian universities, reflecting its consistently high quality of education and research.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE) includes, in addition to Belarusian State Medical University, eight higher education institutions in Belarus.

The leading medical university of Belarus is also registered on the website of the World Directory of Medical Schools under the auspices of the World Health Organization. Belarusian State Medical University has been profiled in the QS Top University ranking.
