Student Scientific Society of the department of Traumatology and Orthopedics

At the meetings of the student scientific society, clinical analyzes of patients with various pathologies are carried out and the reports of the circle members about their research under the guidance of the department staff are heard, followed by a report at the annual student scientific conference. Every year, 8-10 reports are prepared for the student scientific conference, at least 3 works are submitted to the competition.

SSS on the basis of the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the Belarusian State Medical University began its existence in the XX century. The circle, both in those distant times and now, unites students who want to engage in traumatology and orthopedics, regardless of their course and faculty.

An important role in the life of the SSS is played by its leader - Associate Professor of the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics P. Bespalchuk, who invariably infects with enthusiasm for work, tries to present interesting information and tell more from personal experience.

For students, this is an irreplaceable experience of communication and exchange of information between representatives of different schools and areas of modern traumatology. The scientific reports of the circle members look worthy even against the background of the work of young doctors, which indicates a high level of training of the students.

But apart from scientific activities, students have the opportunity to practice. So, many students, in their free time, visit the admission department of the 6th City Clinical Hospital, where they take an active part in providing qualified assistance to orthopedic patients.

And also, if possible, they assist in emergency and planned operations of the Minsk City Clinical Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics.

Many practicing orthopedists and employees of the clinic in the past took an active part in the work of the SSS, which is an important proof of the need for the existence of a circle and its role in training young personnel.
