Student Scientific Club at the Department of Skin and Venereal Diseases has existed for quite a long time, and its origins go back to the 40s. Then the number of circle members was 4 - 5 people. Students carried out their first researches under the guidance of academician A. Prokopchuk, associate professor E. Pevzner and associate professor F. Khomich. Club members gathered at the department of skin and venereal diseases at the 2nd City Hospital. At the meetings of student scientific club the clinical analysis of patients with skin and venereal diseases were carried out, the questions of modern methods of diagnostics and therapy of rare and poorly studied dermatosis were discussed.
In 70-80s the members of the scientific club took part in laboratory research on the pathogenesis of allergic dermatosis, psoriasis, collagenosis and professional skin diseases.

Students participating in the work of student scientific cilub of the department of skin and venereal diseases have the opportunity for in-depth and creative development of educational material, get acquainted with the modern world achievements in dermatology and venereology. In the process of preparation of student scientific work the skills of independent decision of actual scientific and practical problems are formed, creative and analytical abilities of students, approaches to organization and carrying out of scientific researches and orientation on practical mastering of results of scientific activity develop. In monthly meetings of the scientific club of the department involved students of all faculties from I to VI year of high school. The agenda includes a report, clinical reviews of patients in various sections of dermatovenerology, the rubric 'Make a diagnosis', news in dermatovenerology and cosmetology.
Today, the Club students take an active part in the scientific life of the University, country and abroad.
