Goal: development of high professional, creative personality of the student.
The main objectives of developmental work:
- formation a creative attitude to work, its proper organization;
- To make interest in professional knowledge;
- Involvement in volunteer work and in social-educational work beyond of curricular hours;
- Involvement of students in student scientific society;
- organization of a creative atmosphere at the practical classes for better self-realization and efficient knowledge assimilation.
Developmental activities are aimed at:
- deontological education of students;
- development of good manner when dial with patients and colleagues;
- proper hygienic skills in working with patients;
- healthy lifestyle, skin hygiene among patients, prevention of STIs;
- familiarization with the achievements of the belarusian school of dermatovenereology.
Main development activities:
- health and hygiene lectures, STIs/AIDS prevention and basics of cosmetical skin care;
- Training volunteers to work independently among the population with STIs/AIDS prevention (20-30 lecturers per year);
- participation of the lecturers in the interuniversity event held at BSMU on the topic «Young adults against AIDS»;
- Talks with first-year students of the Faculty of Medicine and Prevention «Sexually Transmitted Infections/AIDS - Diseases of Behavior. Measures of their prevention».
Volunteer group «Prevention of STIs»
Since 2002 the chair has been annually training volunteers for HIV/STIs prevention. The special course of lectures is now 15 hours. 144 belarusian students as well as international Student in 2019-20 year attend this course.
Every year BSMU student- volunteers hold up to 80-100 HIV/STIs prevention events at schools, colleges, gymnasiums and higher educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus. Under the scientific leadership of Associate Professor A.L. Naurotsky, volunteers also develop various factsheet aimed at the learning safe sexual behavior among young people.

In 2017, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus and the UN Office in the Republic of Belarus awarded the Belarusian State Medical University with Diploma for a significant contribution to the fight against AIDS.
The staff of the department is actively involved in the promotion of healthy lifestyles among the population. They actively cooperate with the media and teams of various Universities of the Republic of Belarus.
