The clinical base of the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases is City Children's Infectious Disease Clinical Hospital, and consultations of specialist are available daily.
The Head of the Department, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor O.N.Romanova is main non-staff Pediatric Infectious Diseases Specialist in the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus. She conducts daily rounds in the intensive care unit, discussing issues of emergency care, diagnostics, therapy for children with complex pathology.
The staff of the department carries out treatment and diagnostic activities in the departments of the Children's Infectious Disease Clinical Hospital, actively participate in consulting assistance to patients with COVID-19 hospitalized both in the City Children's Infectious Disease Clinical Hospital and in other hospitals of the Republic of Belarus.
The staff of the department advises patients with pediatric infectious diseases in the professorial and advisory center of the Belarusian State Medical University 'Professor' according to the work schedule.
The teachers of the department regularly take part in programs for the prevention of diseases on television, the Internet portal of the BSMU professorial-advisory center (http://professor.bsmu.by), the Internet portal “Healthy people”, professional and scientific webinars for doctors.
Currently, the department staff is engaged in the prevention of COVID-19 and by personal example show the importance of vaccination in preventing a pandemic.
