The students scientific club of the Department of Oral Surgery is named after Professor Boris Vasilyevich Parin.

Every session students and teachers discuss urgent questions of current maxillofacial and oral surgery. The staff of the department prepares presentations and reports on those sections of the specialty in which students are mostly interested, analyzes clinical cases, demonstrates educational videos and visual materials, and carries master classes.
According to the results of the competition for the best students’ scientific club among the clinical departments at BSMU in the 2015 academic year, our club took the second place.

For the meetings at the club students also make presentations at scientific and practical issues of maxilla-facial and oral surgery.
Every year students participate in the University competition of students scientific works in the section “Maxillo-facial and oral surgery” laureates of which take participation in the Republic competition of students’ scientific research works and every year take Diplomas of the I, II degrees.
Also students of Parins’ scientific students club participate and become laureates and prize-winners of international conferences hold in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Smolensk, Vitebsk, and Minsk.

The most active students participate in experimental trials in the scientific research work of the Department of Oral Surgery, participate in Olympiads at the Maxillo-facial and oral surgery discipline.

Scientific tutors help the members of the club in choosing of clinical material, share their experience of communicating with patients, teach modern methods of examination, treatment and rehabilitation, taking into account an individual approach for every patient.

Members of the club together with the teachers of the Department of Oral Surgery publish the results of their research not only in national journals, but also in publications abroad.
Scientific and clinical work is closely related with practical skills on phantom.
The Dental Faculty of the Belarusian State Medical University was represented at the international youth forum by a 4th-year student Sofia Evgenievna Sudakova. According to the results of the conference, her study 'Menstruation as a risk factor in external surgical dental interventions', performed at the Department of Oral Surgery under the supervision of Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Irina Olegovna Pohodenko-Chudakova, was awarded a diploma of the II degree.
