The main areas of educational work with students are:
- ideological and civil-patriotic education;
- moral, legal and family education;
- the promotion of a healthy lifestyle and skills for safe life, ecological culture;
- fostering culture of work and professional activity;
- development of ethical, aesthetic culture, culture of everyday life and leisure;
- creating a favorable moral and psychological environment in the group.
Students of supervised groups participate in all university and faculty events. These are shows and competitions of amateur performances, Freshman's Day, Day of the Faculty of Dentistry, visiting dental and photo exhibitions, anti-tobacco campaigns.
The groups regularly hold series of discussions 'My small Motherland', where students talk about their hometowns, acquaint their fellow students with history, legends and interesting places, bring postcards, photographs and make presentations about the sights of the places where they came from.
Every year, projects are carried out and meetings are organized with experts on healthy nutrition, prevention of tobacco addiction, STIs, etc. Teachers and students take part in excursion trips around Belarus and abroad.

Within the framework of ideological and civil-patriotic education:
Iinformation hours with analysis of current affairs, familiarization of students with excerpts from the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus and the Civil Code, conversations on the prevention of offenses are held.
Lessons of courage are held annually – “The war cannot be forgotten”, “The feat of the people is immortal”, “May 9 - the Day of the great victory”, “Chronicles of the great victory”, “Heroes of the Second World War - who are they?”
Visits to the Museum of the Great Patriotic War.
The parade of projects “Small Motherland” – on-line journeys through the hometowns of students which help to develop pride and love for the Motherland and devotion to the Fatherland.
As part of family education:
The teachers of the department organize events aimed at the formation of students' positive attitude towards the elderly and the disabled, respect for family values in the eyes of modern youth.
For Mother's Day, tutors conduct master classes on making gifts for mothers with their own hands.
Topics for discussion within the framework of fostering culture of work and professional activity:
“Learn to learn” - about a conscientious attitude to study, recommendations on organizing the working day, training on taking notes, improving memory, academic performance.
What it means to be a volunteer.
Punctuality is the key to success.

As part of the formation of a healthy lifestyle and skills for safe life:
Much attention is paid by the staff of the department to the formation of a healthy lifestyle among students, which includes adherence to the daily routine, the ability to rationally organize the working day, proper nutrition, regular sports, and avoiding bad habits.
Activities on health protection issues: talks and lectures are dedicated to the discussion of sanitary and hygienic standards, compliance with safety rules at the university and hostel, fire safety; rules of safe behavior in crowded places, compliance with traffic rules.
Topics for discussion with tutors:
- Smoking and its adverse effects.
- The Chernobyl tragedy.
- Healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle.
- Social media culture.
- Drug addiction and its disastrous effects.
- Stress management, etc.
As part of developing ethical, aesthetic culture, culture of everyday life and leisure:
Students and their tutors visit theaters and concert halls (Y. Kupala Theater, Opera and Ballet Theater, Philharmonic Society, Youth Theater, etc.), galleries and photo exhibitions.
Projects in the orphanage
It has become a good tradition of the department to hold fairy-tale performances and game programs for pupils of the orphanage №3 in Minsk (tutor Abedkovskaya I.Yu.). Among them are the dental projects “A smile will make everyone brighter” and “An incredible Christmas story that happened in the Land of Healthy Teeth”, the musical sportsland “Journey to the Land of Dreams”, the game program “Visiting fairy tales”, performances “Meet the New Year in Prostokvashino”, “Science of the Queen of Winter, or Three Good Deeds for the New Year” and others
