Visit of a delegation from Southern Medical University of the People’s Republic of China

On 29 July, our university welcomed a delegation from Southern Medical University of the People’s Republic of China.

The Chinese delegation included Kewei Xu, Vice President of Southern Medical University, Chief Physician of the Department of Urology; Hongjuan Peng, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, Professor of Pathogen Biology; Jinhua Zhang, Director of the Academy of Scientific Research; Jia Sun, Director of the International Medical Center of Zhujiang Hospital, Chief Physician of the Department of Endocrinology; Chenguang Shen, Deputy Dean of the School of Public Health, Professor of Virology; Jiangtao Chen, Director of the Scientific Research Office of the School of Public Health; Ruiyuan Pan, Professor of the School of Basic Medical Sciences; Guanfeng Lin, Professor of the School of Laboratory Medicine and Biotechnology; Ning Sun, Postdoctoral Fellow at Zhujiang Hospital; Mengjun Li, PhD Candidate at the School of Public Health.

The Belarusian side was represented by Sergey Rubnikovich, Rector of Belarusian State Medical University, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, DSc, Professor; Dmitry Chuikov, Vice-Rector for International Relations; Vasili Roudenok, Professor of the Department of Normal Anatomy, DSc, Professor; and Vladislav Khrustalev, Dean of the Biology Faculty of Belarusian State University, DSc, Associate Professor.

The Rector of our university introduced the Belarusian side, outlining the structure and scientific potential of the country’s leading medical university. The Vice President of the Chinese delegation expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and introduced his team. The Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation gave a detailed presentation of Southern Medical University.

During the visit, the participants discussed the possibility of signing a memorandum of cooperation, student and faculty exchanges, as well as joint scientific projects and research.

In addition, the distinguished guests were given a tour of the Higher Education Simulation and Certification Center and the Anatomical Museum of BSMU.
