The International Congress "Dental Implantology - 2026", including the satellite scientific and practical conference "Day of High Dentistry in the Republic of Belarus - 2026"

Belarusian State Medical University hosted the International Congress "Dental Implantology", bringing together leading dental experts. The business program also included a parallel conference "Day of High Dentistry in the Republic of Belarus," which is an important platform for discussing current trends, sharing practical experience, and presenting innovative scientific developments.

The congress brought together approximately 400 expert doctors: orthopedic dentists, surgeons, and orthodontists from Belarus, Russia, China, Iran, Italy, and Uzbekistan. This format of professional interaction has been developing for over 10 years, allowing participants not only to exchange knowledge but also to strengthen collaboration between scientific and clinical schools across different countries.

The opening ceremony was conducted by Sergey Rubnikovich, Rector of Belarusian State Medical University, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor and Head of the Department of Periodontology, Chairperson of the Public Association of Belarussian Stomatologists, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Lyudmila Dedova. The moderator was Vasili Roudenok, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Normal Anatomy.

The extensive scientific program was formed on the basis of numerous reports: there were prepared hundreds of presentations, dedicated to modern approaches to treatment, diagnostics, and the modernization of dental practice. This enabled participants to become familiar with the present-day methods designed for implementation in real-world clinical settings, including leading Belarusian medical institutions.

A special place in the discussion was given to the solutions that are now considered to be the basis for increasing the accuracy and predictability of dental rehabilitation.

Among the key areas there are technologies using artificial intelligence, including concepts of virtual dental assistants. The participants focused on how such developments can optimize treatment-planning stages, improve the quality of diagnostics, and support physicians in making clinical decisions.

A separate section was devoted to the discussion of 3D printing technology for dental implants, developed by the High-Tech Park. Importantly, the discussion was not about a hypothetical “future,” but about concrete, practical steps towards implementation of advanced solutions into the daily work of doctors: from the creation to implementation in the clinical process.

The participants' presentations reflected a general professional spirit: the congress became more than just an event, but a significant growth point for the industry.

Sergey Rubnikovich, Rector of Belarusian State Medical University, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, emphasized:

– A team of world-class experts will present the latest trends in our dentistry. In particular, it is one of the modern methods of restoring the integrity of the dental row. This will help our patients in problematic cases to replace traditional removable dentures with dental implants. These are precisely the issues that concern modern dentistry.

The rector also noted the scale of the prepared scientific program:

– The range of scientific papers presented, which we have already seen in the program, gives the reason to believe that this will be a breakthrough event, not an ordinary one. Indeed, this is a milestone in dentistry. A wealth of clinical and practical data has been accumulated, which will undoubtedly contribute to the development of dental services.

An invited expert, Sergey Sirak, head of the Department of Dentistry of Stavropol State Medical University (Russia), Doctor of Medical Sciences, and Professor, also gave his assessment of the event:

– The congress in Belarus brought together approximately 400 medical experts… The exchange of experience and cooperation between these states has been established for more than 10 years. Several hundred reports were prepared on the sidelines of the congress alone… This allows us to have advanced methods in Belarus as well.

When they see what we are capable of, the educational and healthcare institutions in the countries I visit give us a warm welcome, and these trips lead to the organization of more global-scale mutual assistance between countries.

The congress's work is closely linked to the university's educational mission. Alongside its scientific events, BSMU continues to upgrade its educational facilities.
