International Cooperation: Visit of BRICS Leaders to Belarusian State Medical University

On the 27^th of February, BSMU was visited by Elena Shuraeva, Head of the Healthcare Committee of the BRICS Joint Cooperation Centre, Head of the Department of Innovation and Author's Technologies of the Union “Health of the Healthy People”, Director of the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Center for Assistance to the Development of Health Technologies and Personalized Prevention in the Field of Health Preservation of BRICS Countries" and Mikhail Sudas, First Deputy Director of the Joint BRICS Cooperation Centre.

The Belarusian side was attended by Rector of Belarusian State Medical University, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Sergey Rubnikovich, Vice-Rector for International Relations Dmitry Chuikov, Professor of the Department of Normal Anatomy Vasili Roudenok, Rector of the International Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Professor Alexander Tsyganov, Vice-Rector and Director of the founding company of the International Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship Han Wenyuan, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the International Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship Danila Dobrorodniy, and Head of the Department of International Cooperation Elena Volodina.

During the meeting, the parties discussed current and promising areas of cooperation in healthcare, education, and innovative technologies. Among other things, there was emphasized the importance of exchanging experience, joint scientific projects and educational programs.

During the conversation, Elena Shuraeva invited the administration of BSMU and the International Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship to participate in the upcoming international seminar, which planned to be held in Moscow. Participation in such an event will expand the horizons of cooperation and strengthen ties between the BRICS countries.

During the visit, the parties signed a quadripartite cooperation agreement between the BRICS Health Coalition, the BRICS Joint Business Cooperation Centre, Belarusian State Medical University, and the International Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, a private institution of higher education. This important document strengthened mutual willingness to cooperate in the fields of healthcare, education, and innovative technologies, and is also aimed at developing partnerships within the BRICS countries.

This visit was an important step towards developing cooperation between the BRICS countries and BSMU. We look forward to new joint initiatives and are confident that such partnerships benefit all participants and contribute to the development of healthcare and education in the region.
