Delegation of the United Republic of Tanzania visited Belarusian State Medical University

On 5 August, Belarusian State Medical University welcomed a delegation from the United Republic of Tanzania on an official visit.

The delegation of the United Republic of Tanzania was represented by Adolf Mkenda, Minister of Education, Science and Technology of the United Republic of Tanzania, Member of Parliament; Fredrick Ibrahim Kibuta, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Republic of Tanzania to the Russian Federation; Stephen Oswald Maluka, Director of the Department of Higher Education; Emmanuel Cornelius Balandya, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences; Yunus Daud Mgaya, Chairman Board of Advisor of Samia Scholarship; and Rweyemamu Kamayugi Augustine, Personal Assistant to the Minister.

The Belarusian side was represented by Boris Androsyuk, Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Belarus; Sergey Rubnikovich, Rector of Belarusian State Medical University, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor; Dmitry Chuikov, Vice-Rector for International Relations.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of bilateral cooperation in the academic and scientific fields. Representatives of BSMU presented the university’s educational opportunities, modern approaches to medical training, and postgraduate education system.

The delegation also visited the Higher Education Simulation and Assessment Center and the Tactical Medicine Training Center, where the guests were introduced to the simulations and technologies used in training that closely replicates clinical practice.

The meeting demonstrated mutual interest in developing partnership in the fields of medical education and science.
