BSMU delegation took part in the “Health Express” Programme in Beijing

From 13 to 17 August, the Belarusian delegation visited Beijing (People’s Republic of China) as part of Health Express Programme, organized by the International Health Exchange and Cooperation Center of the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China.

The delegation included Tatsiana Imshenetskaya, Head of the Department of Ophthalmology of the Institute of Advanced Training and Retraining of Healthcare Personnel of BSMU, Doctor of medical Sciences, Professor; and Robert Yermolkevich, ophthalmologist of the Department of Microsurgery №2 of the 10th City Clinical Hospital and Candidate for the Degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences.

As part of the “Belt and Road” Ophthalmology Conference, Tatsiana Imshenetskaya delivered a presentation entitled “Innovative Technologies in Ophthalmology of the Republic of Belarus” during the plenary session.

During the China International Medical Exhibition, held alongside the conference, the Belarusian specialists became acquainted with modern Chinese-made diagnostic and surgical ophthalmic equipment, strengthened professional ties in the field of healthcare, exchanged experience, and explored advanced approaches to the early diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of eye diseases.

During the visit, the delegation also toured Beijing Tongren Hospital, the second-largest hospital in the People’s Republic of China, founded in 1886. The hospital’s specialists introduced the guests to its modern diagnostic, laser, and surgical technologies for treatment of eye diseases and injuries, explained the organization of ophthalmic surgical procedures.

At the conclusion of the visit, both sides expressed their hope for expanding bilateral cooperation in healthcare, promoting the exchange of professional experience, and strengthening relations.
