The Department of Propaedeutics of Childhood Diseases was organized by order No. 545 of the rector of the MSMI dated August 8, 1986 on the basis of the order of the Ministry of Health of the BSSR No. 139 dated August 7, 1986.
For the training of pediatric personnel in 1986 by order No. 545-UCH of the rector of the Moscow State Medical Institute dated August 8, 1986 on the basis of the order of the Ministry of Health of the BSSR No. 139 dated August 7, 1986, the department of propaedeutics of childhood diseases of the Belarusian State Medical University was organized.
The first head of the department (1986-2003) was Associate Professor Mikhail Vikentievich Chichko, a student of Academician V.A. Leonov. M.V. Chichko graduated with honors from the Minsk Medical Institute in 1963 and worked for two years as a doctor at the Zhuravichi district hospital in the Gomel region, from 1965 to 1968 he studied in graduate school at the Department of Pediatrics at the Minsk Medical Institute.
In 1989, at the Department of Propedeutics of Childhood Diseases, a course of outpatient pediatrics was organized (the course was headed by Associate Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Zubovsky E.A.) consisting of Associate Professor Zubovsky, assistants Nazarenko O.N., Mitroshenko I.V. The creation of a course in polyclinic pediatrics contributed to a significant increase in the quality of practical training of pediatricians.
From 1991 to 1994, the course of outpatient pediatrics was headed by Associate Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Voitovich T.N. At that time, her collaborators were I.G. Germanenko, I.E. Bovbel, O.Nazarenko, I.V. Mitroshenko, V.Yu. Malyugin.
From 1994 to 1997, the course of outpatient pediatrics was headed by Y.F. Komyak. (as part of the department of polyclinic training - the head of the department is Professor M.V. Zyuzenkov).
Under the leadership of Academician VA Leonov completed (1969) Ph.D. thesis “Changes in the content of copper and molybdenum in the blood of women in labor and newborns in connection with late toxicosis of pregnant women.”
The first employees of the Department of Propedeutics of Childhood Diseases were Associate Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Zubovsky E.A., assistants Voitovich T.N., Medvedeva V.I., Komyak Ya.F., Sikorsky A.V. Later, Volkova O.N., Bylinsky N.N., Dmitrachkov V.V., Kaleda A.G., Nazarenko O.N. became the employees of the department.
From 2003 to 2017, the department was headed by the candidate of medical sciences, associate professor Tvardovsky Vladimir Illarionovich.
From 1977 to 1986 Tvardovsky V.I. worked as a researcher at the Belarusian Research Institute of Maternal and Child Health Protection of the Ministry of Health of the BSSR. He prepared and in 1984 successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis at the Council for the Defense of Dissertations of the Smolensk State Medical Institute. From 1986 to October 1988 he worked as the chief pediatrician of the Belarusian Railway. In 1988 he was elected by competition as an assistant of the Department of Childhood Diseases No. 3 Minsk State Medical Institute. Since August 1995, assistant at the 1st Department of Children's Diseases, Minsk State Medical Institute. In 2000, he was appointed to the post of associate professor of the 1st department of childhood diseases, Minsk State Medical Institute. Since 2003, head of the department of propedeutics of childhood diseases of the Belarusian State Medical University.
Since 2017, the department is headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Strogiy Vladimir Vladimirovich.
In various years, the rector of the Belarusian State Medical University A.V. Sikorsky, the head of the 2nd department of childhood diseases, professor T.N. Voytovich, professor of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after A.V. M. Tank Y. F. Komyak. 3 doctoral dissertations and 4 candidate dissertations were defended.
