The Department of Phthisiopulmonology is located on the basis of the clinic of the State Institution “Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Pulmonology and Tuberculosis”. The employees of the department carry out treatment, diagnostic and advisory work within the framework of the current legislation and in accordance with the Regulations on the clinical organization of health care.
The medical, diagnostic and advisory work of the department is carried out in accordance with cooperation agreements with the State Institution “Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Pulmonology and Tuberculosis” of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Healthcare Institution “Minsk Clinical Center for Phthisiopulmonology”.
The head of the department and associate professors of the department are consultants of the departments of the clinic of the State Institution “Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Pulmonology and Tuberculosis”, advise patients in the consulting and polyclinic department of the center, the Professorial Consulting Center of the Belarusian State Medical University, travel to the regions through the Republican Center for Organization of Medical Response.
The department trains clinical residents in 2 specialties: “Tuberculosis” and “Pulmonology” (specialty “Pulmonology” was opened for the first time in 2013). The FPK program was developed and a training course for doctors “Tuberculosis in therapeutic and pediatric practice” was conducted. The program of the course for doctors “Interstitial respiratory diseases” has been developed and approved. The Department of Phthisiopulmonology of the Belarusian State Medical University is the curator (on the part of the educational institution) of interns of medical universities of the republic in the specialty “Tuberculosis”.
The employees of the department take part in the work of weekly consultations at the State Institution “Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Pulmonology and Tuberculosis” to establish a diagnosis of tuberculosis that is not confirmed bacteriologically or morphologically, to treat multi-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB), to conduct differential diagnostics and determine indications for diagnostic and therapeutic methods of surgical treatment diseases of the lungs, the commission for the diagnosis of tuberculosis and a serious adverse reaction to prophylactic vaccination with BCG vaccine in children.
She is the main freelance child TB physician of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus.
Participates in the work of the Analytical Observatory Council (NAS) under the Country Coordinating Committee (CCM) of the Council of Ministers. In order to provide advisory and methodological assistance and check the quality of the provision of anti-tuberculosis care to children, it makes quarterly trips to the regions of the republic.
Associate Professor Manovitskaya N.V. - Ph.D., doctor of the highest category, consults patients of the tuberculous (extrapulmonary) department with concomitant respiratory pathology. Consults patients in the consultative and polyclinic department of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Pulmonology and Tuberculosis weekly on Tuesdays.
In the course of performing treatment, diagnostic and advisory work, employees of the Department of Phthisiopulmonology are actively developing and implementing new methods of diagnostics, treatment and prevention of respiratory diseases, modern technologies for medical rehabilitation of patients, provide organizational and methodological assistance on the organization of anti-tuberculosis work, prevention of tuberculosis and other lung diseases in the republic.
Associate Professor L.V. Litskevich - Ph.D., doctor of the highest category, consults and develops an individual program for the rehabilitation of patients with respiratory diseases (COPD, bronchial asthma).
Member of the Association of Cardiologists and Therapists of the Republic of Belarus.
Assistant Emelyanova N.A. - a doctor of the highest category, consults children in the consultative and polyclinic department and the Minsk Clinical Center for Phthisiopulmonology, is the main freelance phthisiopediatrist in Minsk.
Assistants of the department - Emelyanova N.A., Antonova N.P. - conduct patient wards in the pulmonary therapeutic departments of the clinic, receive outpatients in the outpatient clinic.
In the course of performing treatment, diagnostic and advisory work, the staff of the department develop and implement new methods of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of respiratory diseases, modern technologies for medical rehabilitation of patients, provide organizational and methodological assistance on the organization of anti-tuberculosis work, prevention of tuberculosis and other lung diseases in the republic.
The employees of the department also perform the following types of medical advisory and expert activities:
• participation in the work of the Republican and City Scientific Respiratory Society, meetings of the Medical Council of the RSPC PF clinic;
• expert work at the Center for Expertise and Testing in Health Care;
• work in the commissions of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Minsk City Health Committee, including on the verification of citizens' appeals;
• development of a regulatory framework on tuberculosis as part of the working groups of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus;
• participation in the work of the Observatory Analytical Council (NAS) under the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM).
Teachers participate in the implementation of tasks of the State Scientific and Technological Program, ONTP, the results of the work in the form of instructions for use, Orders of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus are introduced into the treatment and diagnostic process.
The teachers of the department regularly take part in programs for the prevention of diseases on television, the Internet portal of the BSMU professorial-advisory center (http://professor.bsmu.by), the Internet portal “Healthy people”.
